   Came for the first time through recommendation after searching for a good Indian since moving to the area and finally found one. The curries are beautifully spiced and options for warmer ones still remain very flavourful. The chicken was super tender as was the lamb. Great portion sizes and a lovely atmosphere. The service was wonderful too, very friendly. Will definitely be making this our go to.

   Basingstoke has quite a few Indian restaurants, but Spices & Spirits is easily one of my top three and my go-to spot for reliable, high-quality Indian food. Their Nali Gosht and lamb chops are absolutely top notch rich, flavourful, and perfectly cooked. It’s no surprise they’ve won several awards. Dined here again tonight and had a wonderful experience as always. Consistently great food and a solid choice for anyone craving Indian flavours!

   Some of the best Indian food I’ve had in a long time! Every dish was packed with depth of flavour and clearly made with care. The service was excellent, making the whole experience even better. Our server was brand new on her first day, and although she seemed a little nervous at times, she handled everything so well. Overall, a fantastic dining experience. I’d highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic, delicious Indian cuisine.

   Wow, what a lucky find. We were meeting up with friends and Basingstoke was our half way point. I booked this restaurant based on the reviews and it’s the best thing I’ve done for a long time. The service was excellent, the price was decent and the food out of this world! It may be a 30 minute trip but it’s worth it, my new favourite restaurant by a long shot. My only negative…. I asked them to give me cooking lessons and they thought I was joking! I really wasn’t, I wish I could cook like that! The food was sublime, four very very happy customers that will use your restaurant each time we meet now.

   I'm born Indian and have tasted real Indian food in its pure form. The food at Spices and Spirits is closest to the authentic Indian cuisine with pronounced flavour from the spices and the ingredients. They don't add just chilli powder in the name of spicy food. It's aromatic and true to the preparation of the dish. The subtle hints of quality spices used in the food are hard to miss. The food smells nice from the point it arrives on your table and has distinctive taste for each dish. Portion sizes are also decent and justify the price point. I did find the size of Naan a bit small, but that's not a big issue honestly. I'd have loved to have a tandoori option if possible. But I also believe that local patrons may not be too keen on tandoori food. The ambience is also nice and cosy and gives a homely feel (takes me back to India). Music is subtle, and doesn't obstruct the experience in any way. The service staff is also very welcoming and very polite. Had a great experience on Diwali night. Thank you.
