   Had a christmas prawn cocktail starter 6 - 8 prawns on each starter. Not king size prawns either!!! Steak with roast potato, peppercorn sauce but not great roast potato. Steak was nice but everything else average. Some meals had to be reheated, staffing seemed short Food was not great as a christmas meal and everything was a let down compared with 12 months ago. Bar service slow also.

   Called in today no booking made which is unusual for myself, service and food absolutely great as usual, even though they were busy. As regular visitors to the beacon couldn't recommend it enough. Staff always friendly and polite, food is excellent quality and value for money. Keep up the great work Leah and the team.

   This pub is extremely welcoming and kind, with its humble and heartwarming meals and drinks there. The staff are kind and welcoming, as they gave us great service at the pub. However, I feel like the atmosphere isn’t as clear as regular pubs and it’s quite noisy!

   We have not been here in a long time but we came as a treat as my boys had a great school report. A family member recommended having food here so we decided to book. The service was great we had 3 members of staff look after us, one of which was the manager. Everyone was friendly and extremely helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Food was amazing too, we will definitely be back very soon. Thank you.

   Casual tea after a 10 mile walk. Friendly staff, excellent food, way better than expected. Home made from scratch, short beef rib was delicious and sticky with beautiful spots charred. Husband had Tarragon chicken, which was delicious and light, but I won. Beef was 11 out of 10

   Food is superb and the service is incredible. The staff are super helpful and friendly and go the extra mile to ensure that their customers enjoy a very pleasant dining experience. My friends and I have dined at The Beacon several times and their high standards have been maintained on every single occasion. We will be visiting again soon. Well done!

   Normally this is a good restaurant and it still is I used to work here but I came here last week and the food was okay could’ve been better but came here tonight with brother and his partner and the food was not up to standard normally I’m not picky about food but the chips were over cooked and oily and so was my burger and fine but I physically feel sick now thanks to foh Nathan getting us some of our money back on our food. Not how it used to be food used to be amazing kind of disappointed it’s gone down hill a little
