   Me and my partner recently ate at Viva and had a great experience. The service was welcoming, the atmosphere warm and authentically Italian, and the food was absolutely delicious. Prices were very reasonable, and overall we had a fantastic time. We’d definitely eat here again.

   Very glad we fancied Italian, this restaurant is lovely. A good start with a warm welcome, then service that was friendly and attentive and made us feel special. Our meal was delicious from their large wide-ranging menu with generous portions that stretched the shirt buttons so we had to share a dessert, all washed down with their top-notch house red. It's definitely a popular restaurant with all ages,couples, families, creating a cosy buzz. We left here full, happy, very pleased with the bill, promising ourselves we'll be back. A gem and a real selling point for Matlock.

   We came to Viva for a family celebration after a wonderful day in the Peak District. The restaurant itself was nice, and the food was truly excellent – authentic and delicious. Unfortunately, the service completely ruined the experience. The staff openly laughed at our accents and even discussed it so loudly that we could hear them. This was extremely disrespectful and made us feel very uncomfortable. A restaurant should make all guests feel welcome, regardless of their accent or language skills. If you value respectful service, I would not recommend this place. The food may be great, but no meal is enjoyable when you are being mocked.

   Upon arriving, we got seen within seconds and seated in a lovely spot next to the window. After seating, the service was very fast and we got our food within 20 minutes of arriving as did the other customers there. The manager and waiters were ever so polite and even let us take the meal home! The restaurant has such a creative menu and the decorations around the restaurant are outstanding. Very unique style and it feels so magical in the environment. Not to mention, the food prices were fabulous and portion size was excellent! Will definitely be coming back here, amazing business!!

   Dropped by early on a Saturday evening to be greeted by lovely staff who were attentive and polite. Ordered drinks and informed that we would not have to pay for them due to a lack of gas on the pumps, in fairness they were fine. On ordering we were informed to show restraint on the starters as they were large, as a result I only ordered a main (wife had a starter!) and we were really impressed with the honesty. The food was piping hot, well presented and best of all really tasty. Pricing for main meals was also very reasonable. All in all, fantastic spontaneous visit. Can't recommend Viva enough. Brilliant. First of many visits.

   Lovely food and great surroundings, very popular Italian restaurant with a large menu selection. I would have given this a full five stars but the only thing that let it down slightly is the service which one member off staff in particular appeared very inexperienced.
