Excellent fast and friendly service - this is our second order, food was tasty and freshly cooked....we will definitely be ordering again.
Been our default Chinese takeaway service for years, even using when we have guests to stay as the quality consistently good! Not sure what happened last Friday but my wife and I had what can only be described as Slops in general! They begrudgingly offered a credit for the two main offending dishes... Special house chowmein and salted squid (later been my favourite from them in past) was like eating chewy bullets ...the rest was just about passable, but really only as we were so hungry... I guess if there been a better response to our disappointment and not such a dismissive attitude would have given benefit of the doubt and not have written review! But was really poor
I used to drive to Sonning Common when I wanted a Chinese because Henley's Chinese take aways were so poor. If you chose wisely, the Hot Wok was ok - never first rate, but good enough. But some menu items have always been poor, and the overall standard seems to have declined since the 'front of house' staff changed. About one week ago, I dropped in and ordered special fried rice, Hong Kong style sweet and sour chicken (I avoid the pork here) and spring rolls. I got home to find I'd been given none of the above, but instead a cold, clammy bag of chips, two portions of sweet and sour chicken balls, and a portion of chow mein. It was by then after their closing time, so I had no means of getting the error rectified. The Chow Mein was the worst I've ever tasted - like something from the kitchen recycling bin, and the chicken balls were dense and dough-like. I ended up making toast and marmite, because the food supplied was completely inedible. And none of it was what I had ordered. I dropped in yesterday to complain, and the chap behind the counter recognised me, and knew why I was there. He offered no explanation, no apology, and no offer of a refund or a replacement meal. I double checked that he was not going to do anything about it, and walked out. I can only warm people that this place is capable of being both terrible and completely unapologetic. STAY AWAY!
Poor poor quality food. Have ordered from here so many times and each time food is wrong ànd bad quality. But I give them the benof the doubt cos I want to support the local community. Yet again turned up asked for extra spicy vegetarian noodles. Get home and they have meat in them. So angry and annoyed it's not true. Husband ordered. Beef in black bean sauce and if has all fluffy stuff over it and tastes like mush. Will not go here again

We had an absolutely delicious meal here last night - the food was really hot, fresh and so tasty! Very generous portion sizes. The BBQ ribs, shredded beef, chow mein and black bean tofu were the best of any takeaway we’ve had. Very friendly staff and would highly recommend! Thank you!
