I visited recently, had the festive menu and was very disappointed. Food over cooked and bland, lack of vegetables on offer. Blonde haired waitress had hole in her top which looked unprofessional in a restaurant setting. Tea towels used to bring the food out all looked dirty. Such a shame as we had heard such good things, we won't return.

Fantastic! My husband and I ate here Saturday night and went back today for a Sunday roast. We both had the skate Saturday which was the best I’ve ever had. Really large portions and cooked to perfection. The beef roast today was also fantastic. Huge portion again and really delicious. Staff were really friendly, taking time to chat with people and made to feel very welcomed. Would definitely recommend.

I was staying at Lytton Lawn camping and caravan site a 13 minute walk away so chose The Crown to have my evening meals. Good food except the oil needs changing. I didn't have a starter on day 3. Fishcakes with small plate fish and chips, Nachos (enormous, easily a sharer) with gourmet burger. Then Steak and ale pie, mash, peas and broccoli. Highly recommended.

Just had the most disappointing evening meal at the crown. We looked at the web site and saw the menu, booked our table and were really looking forward to a nice meal. What a letdown! The very small menu on offer was nothing like the one on line. The food was dry and unappealing. What a total waste of money that was. Nice enough staff but it wasn’t a pleasant experience. Definitely won’t return there Edit In all fairness I feel I should add to my review. I received a very pleasant reply from the owner explaining that there was a new menu launch happening and inviting us to try another visit as her guests. Unfortunately we were in the area on holiday and never made it back. I’m sure we would have been more impressed with a new menu. The staff and the ambience were absolutely fine. Dog friendly pub too.

What a gem of a find! Not only are the staff super friendly the food is amazing. The burger was cooked to perfection and the specials board did not disappoint! The lamb Curry was delicious - everything gets a 5/5 in my book! Lovely friendly pub that is also dog friendly

Fantastic food and great service. Our second visit here as we enjoyed the first meal so much we booked in for Sunday Lunch. Drinks service was quick, (extra crackling was a bonus), and Chef even came out to see everyone was OK. Highly recommended, will certainly be back. Thanks, Nick & Jo
