I had a terrible experience at the Basingstoke JD branch. I had paid for my goods and wanted a gift receipt. After the transaction went through, I asked for a gift receipt. I was told this was not possible since I had already paid. I understand that I should have asked this before making my payment, but I expect as a customer to be asked that question beforehand. How am I supposed to know to ask before paying for my goods? The very young manager, who clearly had little experience in a management role, was very rude about it. I will not be shopping here again and will, in future, go directly to Nike or other retailers.

I had a very disappointing experience with the customer service. The female staff members were rude and seemed to have a negative attitude. People are paying £50 for a simple pair of leggings, but the service was far from acceptable. If the staff are so unhappy working there, they should consider leaving the job to make room for others who are eager for the opportunity. I asked about the size of a legging, and the girl just said “no” without even checking the stock. However, I can clearly see the item available on the website for Basingstoke! (The store I’m referring to is the one located outside Festival Place, should be on the side opposite Superdrug.) Edit : (07/04/2025) Today, I returned to JD Sports to exchange a jacket and to enquire about a pair of The North Face leggings in medium size. Previously, a female staff member insisted they were out of stock without even checking, which was quite frustrating—especially as I could clearly see online that they were available for Click & Collect. I shared my disappointing experience with a blonde gentleman wearing glasses and another staff member named Grace. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to both of them. They handled the situation with true professionalism and went out of their way to find a solution. JD Sports would truly benefit from having more staff like them—helpful, respectful, and genuinely customer-focused.

I visited the store last week. Awful experience. I asked a sales boy to get the other pair of shoes. He asked me if I want to pay by cash or card rudely before I even decide to buy the shoes. He suspected if I can afford it or not. It’s because I’m Asian origin — His behaviour was purely racist. Not going to that store again. He is after all a sales boy working for minimum wages and his arrogance was as if he owns JD company.

I phoned and had a pair of trainers put aside. They kept them for me. When phoning to enquire about products each person was very helpful. Namely, Peter, Joelle and Ben. The trainers were waiting for me to collect and great customer service in store too.

Need to work on the accuracy of their inventory. Different sizes on the tongues, labels and boxes of all the trainers I was looking to get today meaning they couldn't find the sizes I needed

Worst customer experience i ever had in my life! Asked one of person in store for a pair of shoes I wanted to try out, ended up waiting for 20min!!! When it came the person just walked past me and he had to get his colleague to serve us because he couldn’t. What on earth is going on here ? Very disappointed and not going back to the store. Visited the store: Sunday 24th Nov, 1pm-4pm

Awful just horrendous customer service! Took my three young children in to the store today to pick up a pair of trainers, all I wanted was To pick a pair and go pay, asked the young boy for them and I waited ... I needed to wait 20 minutes.c(it’s sat I expected it to be busy) After that theme I noticed they had been brought up but left on foot stool so I walk over to check they are for me, only to be told off . I was told not to even ask about my shoes until he finishes what he is doing (not the man I even was going to ask ) so rude. Such young lads dealing with very high levels of customers at once no wonder it’s so bad!!!!! No apology!!!!
