Another disappointing visit to Costa Coffee. No gluten-free sandwiches or food options were available, and there was no almond milk-something most coffee shops now provide, even independent coffee shops do. I had to settle for a plain black Americano. To make matters worse, I couldn't even get a proper coffee cup because the dishwasher was broken, so I was given a takeaway cup. When I finally started drinking, the coffee was burnt and far too hot. The service was unfriendly; I had to work to get the staff's attention as both employees were on their personal phones and chatting with each other. And to top it all off, the toilets were out of order.

I really enjoyed my Costa coffee experience, the staff and management were so polite and kind. I had Ben serve me, he was so helpful as I couldn’t decide which drink I wanted. I definitely would visit this Costa again.

I usually really enjoy visiting this Costa because the staff here are lovely and hardworking. Unfortunately, I’ve noticed some serious issues with the manager Ben. From what I’ve seen and heard, Ben treats his employees, especially the women, very unfairly and with sexist behavior. It’s clear that the team works hard but has to deal with a difficult and uncomfortable atmosphere because of him. It’s disappointing to see this kind of management, and I hope that the company takes these concerns seriously to create a better environment for the staff who deserve respect.

The vibration of this place is sensational, it reminds me of family lunches in the field. The warmth, the smile of the staff on Tuesday, August 12 at 5 pm... Thank you, thank you for giving me this moment. I came for an iced coffee and a small cake with a friend and I leave with an experience in the treatment and service that one never forgets.

Love the vibes! I ordered lime cake as well as hot chocolate. I really like it! Also, I enjoyed the atmosphere it was quiet and very peaceful with some background coffee music. Spent 1 hour on this with my husband.

Went in shortly before closing. The two young ladies were lovely. Didn't feel rush at all.

Firstly pulled up to the drive thru window, we were asked to wait a moment. Approx 10 minutes later the lady says ‘oh are you waiting to order?’. Afordered, we were handed a ‘cappuccino’ (picture included), the woman at the window spilled abit and then said ‘oh I’ll pop it in another cup’, she put the cup in another cup, then handed it to me out the window, the cup was so full she proceeded to spill some on her hand. The poor woman’s hand instantly got burnt, she held it together but came back 5 minutes later crying with her hand swollen and burnt. She should have been in hospital not back to work. Then another lady asked us what we actually ordered. The order was all incorrect, except the boiling cappuccino. So had to go through it all again, then they realised they overcharged me and had to refund an item. All in all we were in the drive thru for 30 minutes. 10 minutes after leavening the ‘cappuccino’ was still way to hot to drink, as you can see from the photo, and was undrinkable and had to be thrown away. Honestly the worst customer service I have ever experienced and the poor lady with the burnt hand, I really hope she’s ok and gets a better job we’re she’s not treated like a victim of slave labour.

Wanted to try out the new Terry's chocolate orange hot chocolate and can't say I was disappointed. My first time ever using a Costa and the staff were very friendly and welcoming

Costa Coffee on Reading Gate Retail Park is a tidy example of this coffee shop. Seating inside and out it is well situated to serve shoppers on the retail park. Inside the shop the main food and drinks rack is directly in front as you enter with the counter to the right. There is a nice bar along the main front window. Most seating is towards the rear of the shop and due to limited natural lighting the shop has a darker relaxed atmosphere. The staff were cheerful and polite when serving. This shop can get quite busy depending on the time you are here.
