Really disappointed with how we were treated here on Saturday afternoon. The landlord’s daughter, who was working behind the bar, was extremely rude and kicked us out for no reason at all… She even got in my girlfriend’s face after pouring her drink away. It was honestly quite upsetting — we hadn’t done anything wrong and just wanted to enjoy a few drinks for a friend’s birthday. Not the first bad experience I’ve had here either. Really disappointing.

This is my first ever time leaving a review, but I felt so strongly about how we were treated that I couldn’t not write this. We’ve given this pub several chances over the years — mainly because it’s conveniently located next to the station — but sadly, we’ve had more than one disappointing experience. Our most recent visit, however, was by far the worst. From the moment we arrived, the landlord’s daughter seemed to take issue with our group for reasons that were never made clear. We were simply there to celebrate a friend’s birthday. Without any warning or explanation, our drinks were taken and poured away, and we were asked to leave — no refund, no reason given. It was embarrassing and unnecessarily unpleasant, especially when we were doing nothing wrong. We genuinely question whether someone who reacts so abruptly, and with such a short temper, is suited to working behind a bar — particularly in a role that relies on patience and good customer service. It’s disappointing, though perhaps not entirely surprising, given that the pub already has a bit of a reputation in the village for being rude and unwelcoming to customers. We had hoped things might have improved, but unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case. I’ve never written a review before, but this experience left us shocked and genuinely upset. I truly hope management takes this feedback seriously and reflects on how they treat their regular customers in the future.

Best pub in the area for Rugby & F1 - pretty good for Football too if the Rugby isn’t on! Great selection of Timothy Taylor beer - including Landlord, Boltmaker and the session classic Golden Best - super friendly staff and ideally situated next to the station. Worth a visit!

Great service, good selection on tap, and nice atmosphere used to go in here a lot when I was younger, pop in every now and then when visiting friends in Twyford. Highly recommend.

Fantastic boozer, just as they used to be. Excellent range of Timothy Taylor beers, friendly bar staff, seating space, bit of sport on the TV (but not loud), no music. You can sit down, drink beer and chat - good times! Definitely coming back again.

Friendly little local. Spent an hour here one afternoon. Had a couple of beers (ales) and did some work on the laptop so didn't eat as such. Bar service was quick and cheerful. Will come back.

Great pub with amazing service. The landlord is very chatty and helpful. Also try the wood fire pizza in the garden. It's open on Friday and Saturday evening. It's got live music too.
