   A pretty decent proper pub, enjoyed going here. Conveniently close to the Oracle and the other bars on Gun St. They had some decent beer on when we visited - Theakston IPA, something from the Loddon brewery and another. Pork scratchings. Friendly bar staff and other customers. There's a large outdoor seating area out back which was nice.

   Allied Arms has always been a decent pub with a good garden, but £8 for a Heineken and £7, yes £7! for a Foster is insane. Owners seriously need to take a look at themselves, I feel sorry for their staff and no wonder it was little more than 10% full on a sunny summer's Saturday evening. Won't be going back.

   The place is very good, everything else is alright but what are these prices my goodness! £8 for a pint?? Even in the most sophisticated places of London I have only paid £7.5 for a pint. I never thought my most expensive pint ever would be in Reading. There are many other pubs with beer garden and similar atmosphere and service like theirs but none of them charge more than £6.50. Even the food prices are enormously high. It's just not worth it to go again, sorry!

   Easily the best pub in Reading. Beautifully preserved historical features, plenty of character. I was surprised how quiet it was when I visited. Guinness wasn't great and cost £7.25, but fantastic atmosphere nonetheless.

   Nice little secret garden in the back with heating when it’s a bit chilly. Standard pub selection of drinks I guess. Friendly service.

   It's very simple, local, comfortable. We went to the beer garden which is so much larger than you would expect, and there are enough flowers and little algae covered statues for deco, but not too much that would overwhelm.

   Probably the best pub in Reading. The staff are always super welcoming and the garden is surprisingly big, perfect all year round as they have heaters. They always have a selection of good beers on tap and the pub quiz every other Wednesday is a must do if you're a local or just here for the evening.

   If you’re looking for a pub that gives you more than just the normal 5 pints on draught then this is the place you’re after. A proper little gem of a place, will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend.

   Readings diamond in the rough. A safe haven in the storm of modern life, comfortable and relaxing. It is great to see them so tastefully celebrating their 20th anniversary whilst respectfully paying tribute to the life her Majesty the Queen. I highly recommend it!
