Yesterday we had our annual Christmas get-together, of some 50-60 people. I had arranged this with the bar some months ago as a new venue. From initial engagement through to the celebration the bar team, from manager and each and every staff member was brilliant. From reserving our area to collecting glasses all staff were polite, efficient, and helpful. (Some of our gathering are beyond retirement age and with mobility issues). During the evening the feedback has been excellent. Not one negative comment from anyone who attended. The general comment to me has been that the bar must be our venue going forward for a summer event and definitely next Christmas. I want to thank the whole bar team for making the event an excellent one. Their service made a positive impact and made the day a great one. I know that our attendees thanked staff members personally, but I hope this review reflects theirs and my response to a great day. Would I recommend this venue, YES. Thank you MacCafferty’s Bar at Reading Simon

Brought the loaded fries and went back the following week and the portion size was a lot smaller and it was completely different as the fries were changes to chips. When I mentioned it to the staff I was told they were not making a profit so head office had told them to make the portion smaller. Definitely not worth £6.50 for 15 chips.

Great bar, lovely to have a taste of home in the form of cheesy chips and a chicken fillet roll. Nice atmosphere with a good mix of people, buzzing compared to any other bar we passed. The musician Cormac was fantastic and really added to the whole experience. Would be great if he played a little later as we weren’t ready to stop singing when he finished. Loses a star as the service was very slow on every occasion, no sense of urgency which as a couple left my partner sitting on her tod for far too long (the service was that slow). To be honest it would stop us going back but will give it one more go as the live music and the food made up for it.

Been a couple weeks since opening. The decor really well thought out and the staff are friendly. These guys are going to go far. The prices are cheaper than your average. Brilliant atmosphere. An excellent choice of beers on tap, behind the bar etc. They’ve absolutely transformed the old Wild Lime. God I hope they go far… well done guys!

A great night it's only been open for two days so was told by local yesterday wasn't as packed as places like it would be round my way was fullish but wasn't packed out. The decor was nice, it was a touch of class like old whiskey bottles, and antiques behind glass and the atmosphere was laid back nice fibe. They had love music on after 7pm and was good country Irish music the drinks had great range from Madri, to cocktails to shots, and Gins.

Decent bar in central Reading. Big bar but slow service. Average pricing but a good mix of drinks available etc. Toilets need to be a bit cleaner as they did smell and had flies. Appeared to be a leak from the upstairs toilets into the bar/dancefloor area.

This place is a complete toilet, you only have to see the state of the mens up stairs. I was given a dirty glass it was absolutely filthy, when I asked politely to exchange it for a clean one, I was told like I was something they just stepped in that I could go and drink somewhere else. Rude staff and its a complete health hazard...and they do pizza!! Really???!!!!

Wild Lime is absolutely brilliant. Had the best night out there for a very very long time. Security are on their game and professional. The bar staff are very friendly and professional - really impressed me. The drinks, the music, the dancing, the atmosphere... Brilliant. Recommended. Don't forget to take your ID! I'm 50 years old, first time I've been asked for ID in years, felt like a compliment then I realised these are the rules thanks to Covid. Still felt like a 21 year old though once I got in. Top venue. .
