For the first time ever we decided to eat out for Christmas. We were not disappointed. Very well organised, great menu choice for Christmas Day, wonderful food. Everyone working was attentive, kind and helpful. Great atmosphere. Would definitely book again. Thank you to Olly, Beth and Alfie in particular.

Had a family meal here. 10 people. Pre-ordered all the food in advance. Still had to wait for nearly 90 minutes for the food to arrive despite pre-ordering. When the food did arrive it veered between overcooked or underdone. We were all so hungry by this point we ate what we could. We ended up clearing our own plates off the table as staff disappeared. They seemed short staffed and little to communication between those presents. Not recommended. Avoid.

Absolutely lovely place, so welcoming and with delicious, freshly prepared food. All the staff were wonderful, helpful and so patient with my elderly relatives. The menu choices are great, there was something for everyone, from traditional good English pub dishes to lighter salad options, even with an added seasonal menu. We were a larger group of people, everyone ordered something different and all the food was prepared perfectly and piping hot. The atmosphere is relaxed with lots of comfortable seating options both indoors and outside. From booking to service, everything was well organised, friendly and delicious, many thanks for a great day!

My wife had an operation scheduled at Basingstoke Hospital on 15th Jan - was a major op re cancer diagnosis and went on for 5 hours. We stayed at the hospital for 2 weeks in total. While she was in surgery, i went for a walk in the countryside to take my mind off events - after an hour or so of walking, i ended up at the Swan (i had looked it up before starting walk!). I was warmly welcomed by the staff there, who were really helpful as well as accommodating ( they helped me with where to find a local village shop and post office) While there, i noticed a promotion on the website regarding AllTrails where you used their app for a local walk and ended up at the pub for a free breakfast. So, on the Friday morning, i completed another long walk, helped by All trails, and arrived at the Swan for 9am. I had a lovely breakfast, eggs Benedict, presented beautifully and really tasty - and although tempting, resisted having a pint with it… 9am just too early! I came back the following week for a sandwich at lunchtime - again, lovely food, well presented and tasty! Thank you to the Swan - i would thoroughly recommend to anyone wanting a warm welcome, great food and a well deserved drink - whether you’ve had a long walk in the country or just driven there. Will definitely be back.

Had an enjoyable lunch. My lasagne was great, OH enjoyed the chicken pie. Good chips. Had the small pud + tea/coffee option, that was good too. Friendly helpful staff. It's not chichi nor Michelin, but it's good pub food. They were redoing the thatched roof, amazing.

Looks like it's been refurbished since Covid lockdowns. Great choices of drinks, great quality food at a reasonable price. Abby, our server, was very friendly. If I had to make one point to improve, update the non-alcoholic beer choices on the menu. It sounded like some of the beers listed are never stocked.

Not been in since COVID as prior it was getting tatty and the food hit and miss. Popped in yesterday for a drink and ended up having 5 and food. Nice layout, dog friendly in the bar area. Wide range of drinks and food menu was varied and reasonable price. Will be going back for sure.

Went to the Swan for Burns night as they were offering a 4 course menu for the occasion. Left very satisfied as all courses were tasty and good size portions too! Also, the staff was very friendly and attentive in recommending drinks. Would definitely come back to try the outside garden which apparently is a great space.
