   I was visiting Barnes with my kids to explore the lovely Wetlands site, and my 15-year-old discovered this amazing café-bakery on Instagram, The Base, right in the heart of the village. OMG, what a find! The place is beautiful, the food absolutely delicious, and the prices are great value. I wish we had somewhere like this where I live! The friendly waiter told us that all the breads and cakes are made in-house, and even their coffee is roasted on-site. You can really taste the difference. Congratulations to everyone behind this wonderful business, it’s clear how much love and hard work has gone into creating such a special place.

   Today was our third time visiting this month and I can confidently say I found our new favourite spot in Derby. The coffee is amazing, the food is fresh and tasty and the sweet treats are absolutely incredible! Everything is reasonably priced so thay is another bonus. All staff are lovely, always happy to help and answer questions even in busy times and the place is also dog friendly. Definitely will be coming back soon!

   I absolutely love this place! The food is beautiful. They cater for my work meetings and events and my visitors from UK and EU are always so complimentary. I ask for vegetarian and non vegetarian so i have an equal selection but also ask for a cheeky sweet too. They package it up well and it lasts without going soggy or dry. I cant recommend this place enough!
