I was part of a large group so we were asked to pre order. Food was very high standard & nice and hot. Big portions & plenty of veg. Service was excellent. I would highly recommend this pub. It's great! My first visit but I will be back. Thank you to all the team.

Wow ,this is an Amazing Pub,but I would say restaurant, we were going to a national trust house but couldn't help noticing this amazing place, I have never seen such as many beautiful flowers around a building. Inside it has the real old pub feel,The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent and reasonable priced. Can recommend this place enough. It also has a brilliant outdoor seating area and good car park.

After a walk through Hinton Ampner gardens we booked for a first visit to the Hinton Arms for lunch. Good job we did, the place was very busy which is always a good sign of good food. The food was first class and the waiting staff were very friendly and efficient. This is definitely my new “best” pub to visit.

From the moment you approach The Hinton Arms—its honey‑coloured stone façade framed by climbing ivy—you know you’re in for something special. Stepping through the heavy oak door, you’re enveloped by an atmosphere that effortlessly balances laid‑back country charm with a touch of contemporary flair. Exposed beams stretch across the ceiling, while soft Edison bulbs cast a honeyed glow over plush leather banquettes and rustic farmhouse tables. A crackling fire in the corner adds a cosy warmth, and tasteful art prints alongside fresh greenery bring a welcome splash of colour. It’s the sort of place where you immediately want to settle in, linger over a drink and soak up the ambience. When it comes to the menu, The Hinton Arms truly shines—starting, of course, with its signature burgers. These aren’t your run‑of‑the‑mill pub patties: each is a masterclass in texture and taste. The patty itself is a perfect medium‑rare—juicy, pink‑flecked and beautifully seasoned—nestled in a pillowy brioche bun that’s been gently toasted so it holds together without ever feeling heavy. Toppings are fresh and inventive: crisp baby gem lettuce, vine‑ripened tomato, and a tangy house‑made pickled slaw that cuts through the richness, while a slick of smoky chipotle mayo ties everything together. With each bite, you get that glorious interplay of melt‑in‑your‑mouth meat, soft bun, and bright, zesty crunch. But the true showstopper of our evening was the pork belly. Presented as thick, succulent slabs, the meat was slow‑braised until it literally fell apart at the touch of a fork. Its top layer—glazed with a honey‑soy reduction—crackled to a perfect crisp, providing a sublime textural counterpoint to the lush, unctuous flesh beneath. The accompanying apple‑and‑cider chutney was the ideal foil: sweet yet tart, cutting through the pork’s richness and lifting each mouthful to something transcendent. For a lighter counterbalance, the prawn and avocado salad offered an elegant, refreshing interlude. Jumbo prawns, poached just right, were firm and plump, their ocean-fresh sweetness enhanced by a bright lime and coriander dressing. The avocado was impeccably ripe—creamy and buttery—diced alongside ribbons of cucumber and dressed micro-greens, all finished with a whisper of chilli oil for just a hint of warmth. It felt simultaneously indulgent and virtuous, a testament to the kitchen’s skill in balancing flavours and textures. Across the board, the meats at The Hinton Arms are a testament to precise cooking and top‑quality sourcing. Whether it’s the beef in the burgers, the pork belly’s tender flakes, or the plumpness of each prawn, every protein is treated with respect and cooked to absolute perfection. Service is equally attentive: knowledgeable staff guide you through the menu, offering wine pairings that complement rather than overpower. In short, The Hinton Arms isn’t just a pub—it’s a destination. From the inviting interiors to the standout burgers, the heavenly pork belly and the artful prawn salad with its creamy avocado, every detail has been thought through. If you’re looking for a dining experience that combines rustic warmth with refined modern cooking, look no further. Highly recommended—5 out of 5.

Today, we decided to go out and explore nature as it awakens in the earliest days of spring. After a short walk, a bar caught my eye. The ample parking space intrigued me, so I decided to pull over and go in. We received a warm welcome and chose to sit outside under the warm sun, with temperatures around 18 degrees. I ordered a homemade beef burger, and since I was the driver, I didn’t taste the beers, which the others were obviously enjoying. My beef burger was amazing and cost £17. It was served with plenty of chips, onion rings, and a very delicious salad. Despite being on a weekday, almost all the tables were occupied or reserved.

A charming Country Pub with framed photos of horses and horse riders, etc. There is a huge garden, easily seating 100 people, plus a large car park around the back. There is also a children's outdoor play area with swings and a climbing frame. The pub feels cosy and authentic inside, but the best part is the food! Most of the ingredients and produce are locally sourced, and the portion sizes are very generous. The sausages are from a farm in Alresford, and there was homemade locally sourced venison burger on the menu, too. Also a good selection of local ales, including a golden Hinton ale, which is one of their own beers, and very nice it was too!

Always driven past the Hinton Arms but never visited - today was the day my car took a right turn and I was in the car park!! The flowers outside the pub were amazing - on entering the pub a warm welcome by the staff. Food was excellent, served in quick time and plenty of it, room for dessert - just - and this didn’t disappoint. If you’re near the area and looking for a value for money lunch / dinner the Hinton Arms is the place for you. Worth more than 5 stars in my opinion!!

Could not fault our visit to the Hinton Arms today. All staff were very friendly, welcoming, attentive and professional. As for the food, there is a fantastic choice, every dish we saw coming out made our mouths water. We eventually settled for the venison rump and calves liver. Both dishes had very generous portions, and tasted fantastic, in fact the venison was the best I have tasted for quite a few years. Looking forward to going back and trying more dishes.
