we booked a family Christmas meal and asked to be seated near each other as the tables only seated 6 and there was more of 6 of us and they couldn’t possibly move us as the tables had a seating plan. We was sat no where near each other! it took an hour and a half for pre-ordered food to come out and then got told they didn’t have part of my starter. The mains came out and food was missing such as a Yorkshire pudding and pigs in blankets. after we had finished food 2 women asked to move tables and without hesitation they got moved straight away. we then asked why we couldn’t move but they could and they didn’t have much to say. we than heard a worker slagging us off to another member of staff

We came today 27 November for my pre birthday lunch! And may I say the food was exceptional the presentation was lovely and the food was hot and delish, I had the slow cooked beef shin and my hubby had the signature burger cooked by Andre, he is a credit to your kitchen! The service was great and didn’t have to wait long for anything very attentive her name was Kara! Thank you for a lovely afternoon will return again soon!

Nice oldy wordly pub restaurant on a busy road junction. The beer and food were a little expensive for this locality. Beer nice n cold . Food, fish n chips on Friday of course. Fish quite nice although the batter was hard and greasy. Chips and gravy okay, but the gravy was something other than gravy. A bit like a bovril cube with extra salt and oil added. Horrible!

I can't fault this place!! Whilst it was really busy when I arrived at 6:30pm on Sunday, the staff were still extremely friendly, attentative and the food arrived in good time. It was well presented and tasted great too. Can recommend the calamari or hollumi cheese bites starters. For mains we had the Sunday roast. Whether having the Trio of roasts, or the Turkey dinner, it was faultless. The vegetables were cooked perfectly and was collectively plentiful to fill you! Update 12th Feb 2022 - went for their Valentines Menu (it was available Fri, Sat and Mon). Cracking choice of food for all three courses and extremely well presented. One slight suggestion would be to make it feel a little more romantic. There was no additional decorations (not even a red rose on the table). Appreciate it a pub / restaurant too, but with minimal effort, it would have created a different ambience. First rate service and food again though. Well done!!!

My partner and myself decided to go for her late birthday meal. Pleasant welcome and nice looking place. However when we were seated the tables had dirt in the grooves and on the seats. We had a starter each which was nice and main meals of fish, chips and mushy peas while my partner had chicken and pancetta pie, chips and veg. It was nicely presented and tasted good, however halfway through my partner found a piece of steel wire scourer in her pie. We notified another, who was doing a good job, and he took the food to show the chef. A few minutes later he came back and said the dish wouldn't be on the bill and apologised repeatedly. We reiterated it wasn't his fault and told him not to worry and the manager should be dealing with the issue, which never happened. The table cleanliness needs addressing urgently and alot more care needs to be done on food preparation because if a young child were to have swallowed it things could of been alot worse. We were disappointed as to why the manager didnt sort the issue out and left it to the server.

We really enjoyed our early evening meal at The Rose and Crown. Good menu with plenty of choice - something for everyone. Our meals were excellent and good value. Finishing with banoffee pie and a nice cup of coffee. Super staff, very considerate, with time for the customer. We will definitely return.
