β Not Recommended We arrived for food at 7:10pm and had to ask for menus, which were handed over with nothing more than a grunt. Not exactly the welcome you hope for when you come out for a meal. The woman who appeared to be the cook was abrupt and noticeably rude, giving the impression that our presence was an inconvenience. What made things even more concerning was that she had been handling and stroking a dog just moments before we ordered. When we went to order drinks, the bar experience was no better. We asked for a large bottle of red wine, only to be told they had none and wouldnβt until the supplier delivered next Wednesday. We then asked for a large bottle of rosΓ©, also none. And they donβt stock large bottles of white. We settled for a small Chardonnay, but the wine glasses were filthy. Two had to be returned immediately because they were genuinely a health hazard. Instead of cleaning the dirty glasses, the young man picked up individual ones, checked them, and put the dirty ones straight back on the shelf. I asked for a tall glass instead, those were dirty too. When it came to the food, things didnβt improve. The meals were poor quality and very small portions. I ordered the hunterβs chicken: the chicken was dry, the barbecue sauce was cold, and the cheese wasnβt even melted. I didnβt touch the chips after finding two small hairs in them. We then asked about desserts, since weβd barely eaten our mains, only to be told the kitchen had closed at 7:50pm. The atmosphere wasnβt what I expected either. With no background music or general ambience, the only noise came from the staff chatting among themselves. This place genuinely has potential, which is why this visit was such a disappointment. Compared to previous visits, this experience makes it clear we wonβt be returning.

Lager pub just outside Derby city centre, so if sky sports with Carling is your bag along with a chat about Brexit and the odd vape/fag, you'll be fine.

Rubbish!! service has gone downhill, empty tables when we arrived, filthy with stale beer and dirty glasses, still the same empty tables/dirty glassesp when we left. No one watching the 10 TVs that were showing football, asked for one to be changed to rugby, too much trouble!!! We came here to watch it as they always used to have it on at least 3 screens. This is the most quiet I have seen this pub on a Saturday night, definitely not the pub it used to be, toilets were filthy, will definitely NOT be back, afraid its the way all Marstons places are going. We would normally spend a lot of money in here, not anymore!

Atmosphere was fine, there were very long pauses between songs playing. Service was good, staff are friendly and approachable. Food was lovely but noticed the cucumber was past it's best. Overall happy to return.

We visited for drinks on a Sunday evening and it was very quiet but it was clean and service was quick. They have 3 slot machines, a pool table and beer garden and serve food.
