The Brickies is our local pub, although we technically live somewhere 100 miles south of the place. We followed Bruce from his time as executive chef at the Plume of Feathers over the last 10 years or so and have been to the Brickies on several occasions for both drinks and food. The pub has recently been refitted with a new lick of paint inside and some new decorations, plus a new outdoor patio which will see a lot of use in the summer months - it feels cosy and welcoming the second you go through the door. A rotating selection of food offerings change throughout the week, and are served outside takeaway style from a Gulfstream trailer in classic style, plus a very reasonably priced and vast selection of beers, wines, and spirits. Bruce's food has always been top class, and the new fare from the Brickies is no exception. Anything from a humble cob to a monster Yorkshire pudding Sunday roast wrapped is rich, full of flavour and very reasonably priced. The Yorkshire pudding wrap we had on our way to the Stoke panto was honestly the only thing we ate all day - packed solid with roast pork, crackling, stuffing, red cabbage, carrots, hispi and more besides. The roast potatoes are some of the best you'll find anywhere, along with a thick, rich onion gravy. If we lived anywhere nearer the Brickies, we'd be in there every day, and even living so far away, we always make an exception to visit, even if it means driving cross-country on a way back from somewhere else. It's a lovely pub run by lovely people with some of the best food and drink around.

The Brickmakers Arms has completely transformed under the new owners β and what a fantastic job theyβve done! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a beautiful refurb that keeps the pubβs charm while giving it a fresh new feel. Itβs clear the whole family is pouring their hearts into the place. Their daughter is amazing β not only running the socials brilliantly but also shaking up some of the best cocktails around. The pub is super dog-friendly, which makes it even more inviting, and the addition of the food truck is a genius move β the food is absolutely incredible! A proper village pub with a modern twist β canβt recommend it highly enough.

Perfect little pub with great beers and ciders, I can heartily recommend the Bee Sting honey cider, itβs absolutely delicious! The landlord and landlady are very welcoming and the decor is spot on if youβre after a proper country pub feel.

Lovely village pub. We noticed that the lounge that we sat in was spotlessly clean. A really nice pint of Burton Bridge bitter, too.

It's rare to find a village pub where the landlady and local village clients are so friendly and welcoming. The Brickmakers Arms is renowned for it's ales, however as a Burton on Trent resident I feel ashamed to admit that we are not real ale drinkers. This was not a problem, we still received a very warm welcome.

The Brickmakers Arms or as it's known locally as the "brickies" is a small cosy country pub. Always a warm welcome. A good selection of beers including Burton Bridge bitter. Meals aren't available apart from bar snacks. Sometimes a group will be invited to play in the evening.

Great pub. The beer here is excellent. The staff and locals are friendly. Welcomes dogs and walkers. The above review was from 5 years ago and I dropped in tonight. Electric and friendly atmosphere with world class beer and superb staff. All staff completely switched on and landlord obviously know how to run a good pub. I'll definitely be back and I'll highly recommend this pub to people that like quality beer in a top atmosphere.
