We were forced out 20 mins before closing by the ‘owner’ who repeatedly rudely asked us to leave even when closing time was still half an hour away. Unfriendly atmosphere and service. If you’re so desperate to close then make your official closing time earlier, rather than aggressively forcing paying guests out.
Very rude woman at the bar who called herself the owner, did not allow us to finish our pool game 30 minutes before they are scheduled to close that we had already paid for and demanded us out before the closing time, very unfriendly and horrible service.
Good local , reasonably priced nice pint of Bass
I love this pub down to earth staff and friendly locals with a fine pint of Bass always available. It may not be the poshest pub but it's one of the best in Ashboure. We go often try it you will like it. You can see several of the famous Shrovetide balls hanging above the bar what more do you want!
I stopped there before cycling in Peak District to have a coke. Thanks a lot for welcoming me this way. I hope I'll come back for a nice beer next time. Cheers !

Proper pub, great ale, great atmosphere and staff and a landlord who knows what he's about.
Good old fashioned pub in Ashbourne. They don’t serve food but the beer is very good. Staff are friendly and happy to chat. There is a outdoor area at the back, more of a yard than a beer garden and there is a few tables at the front which is nice for watching the world go by. I would certainly recommend popping in for a pint.
