I try not to judge or review places, if at all possible, until I’ve been there at least a few times. Anyone can have a bad day, so waiting to review gives a better overview. I’ve now been here for a hair cut at least 6 times and I’m sorry to say that the quality has declined on the last few visits. In the early days, it was very clean, friendly, the barbers were professional, took their time and gave a very good haircut. The last few visits….. I’ve paid a different price each time for the same hair cut. Shelves, sinks and floor are filthy dirty, barbers are constantly hunting around for clipper attachments, they now use their cigarette lighters to singe the hair in your ears rather than using a proper tool (very dangerous). Used a razor blade on my neck when dry and so my neck was red raw and painful for the rest of the day. Witnessed them making fun of a young man who I think was autistic - I was close to waking out, but they stopped when they saw my face! The young lad who works there was happy to tell a customer he’s training on the job by observing and that he doesn’t need to go to college. About a month later, I watched him wash a guys hair after the barber had cut it, he then got a cut throat razor and took a chunk of hair out of this poor guy’s hairline and cut his skin. He used a his thumb, no gloves or sterile wipes, to stop the bleeding. (Probably because he’s had no training on how to cut hair or first aid/safety). Surely only a professional, experienced barber should even attempt to use such a thing! They started off well and took their time, got busier due to being decent and no doubt the very handy location for locals, now they’ve got greedy, complacent, lost all consistency, and demonstrate utter contempt for their customer’s safety which is unacceptable. The only thing Top Man Turkish Barber 2 can cut well, are corners.
Just been here with my 2 year old son who is very nervous and always cry’s having his haircut. The guys here are brilliant with him trying to make him feel at ease and also give him a great haircut. Highly recommend.
