The gift shop is lovely and festive but absolutely baltic and that's with lots of layers! Disappointed in the food, I had the Nutella pancakes with strawberries and the fruit tasted of onions! The pancakes were awful. I didn't finish it. The iced latte was good. My friend and I did feel a bit rushed to order and then the food came out so quickly but too quickly! I wouldn't rush back.

I have been for several visits prior to today and most were fine. However today it was a 40 minute wait for a table, followed by a 30 minute wait for food after ordering but this was not communicated to use that food would be such a long wait! When the food finally came it was of poor quality, the panini was cold on arrival and contained pieces of bacon that were just fat, no meat. Soup was very liquidy and was overseasoned with something. Service at till was also quite poor, automatically brought up full card payment without first asking if we wanted to split, did not ask if everything was okay.

First visit, very impressed. Waiting time was short, ordered 2 breakfast rolls, one with egg and bacon, the other egg and sausage. The rolls were soft and fresh and the food cooked to perfection! Best breakfast roll I've had. Nice surroundings, not noisy, music playing down low in background, lots of fairy lights, will definitely be back.

We booked the private room for afternoon tea for my Auntie’s 70th birthday and it was amazing from start to finish. The staff are very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us but left us to enjoy too. The food was outstanding & there was plenty of it, we had a gluten free afternoon tea too & she was delighted with hers. I will definitely be back! Thank you so much you made our day even more special.

A lovely wee cafe in the countryside. The cafe is adjoining to a home store that has interesting and high quality items. There is a show room for fireplaces too. The cafe is owned by the same company that does The Pier at Aberdeen beach and Corner Tree, so you should expect a similar level of quality. We enjoyed our food and drinks here, and will be recommending to our friends to check this wee hidden gem.

Had a brilliant lunch with the family here. Was very quiet at lunchtime on a Thursday. Food was spot on, and service was great. Will be back.

Popped in for tea and cake after a Mothers Day walk. A group of 4 servers were too interested in chatting than taking our order, once they had I ordered an ultimate hot chocolate but without the marshmallows. Menu states it came with a cookie but only came with a small bit of cream on top and was just warm, for the price it was essentially just a normal hot chocolate. My husbands cake was a bit dry. Overall not a great experience for the price we paid.

We had a lovely meal at the Forest Cafe today. We had a mixture of brunch and lunch. The pancake stack with bacon and maple syrup with scrambled eggs on the side was delicious. Eggs are very creamy. My daughter had a tuna and cheese panini which was great and my husband had the steak fries which he enjoyed very much. Clear plates all round. The atmosphere is delightful and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The shop is also lovely to wander round.
