The young lady serving me was kind enough to take a heavy saw to the shutters to allow me to put it straight in the boot.
Very nice shop equipped with tools, materials and equipment that can be used to repair, fix or upgrade things in your home. Staff are friendly and helpful. Also you can ring up in advance to check the availability of a product through a code.
Awful costumer service. We were looking for 1 item in specific and the lady in the cashier sent us to search in the tablet because she couldn't be bothered to help us. Not coming back here because I came looking for help and advise and I was sent talk to a machine. It makes me think if the lady is either qualified to work in a specific store like this.
Really pleased with the quality of service I received today from Andy @ Screwfix Reading Hyperion Way. I had a big order of socket and switches which he managed to sort out despite a glitch in their IT system. Very pleased, 5 star for his customer service.

Screwfix on Hyperion Way is one of their standard stores. Handy and well priced for DIY and trade. Extensive catalogue of products. Been a few times and the staff are friendly and helpful. Gotta love the tiny pencils for filling in the request slips - it’s iconic!
I needed a toilet part. I kept ordering online but they would not fit, because the parts descriptions did not provide crucial dimensions information. Yesterday I visited Screwfix, Hyperion Way, Reading. The gentleman at the counter said I had to make an order online on the tablets at the entrance. I explained my difficulty and his response was "what can I do, I cannot help, I don't know the dimensions anymore than what you see on the screen ...". That meant I would have had to order and buy all the various part/s available, and then return any or all which did not fit. I left the shop. As I returned to my car I saw, around the corner, another DIY/plumbing parts store. The elderly gentleman at the counter there told me he understood exactly my predicament as there are many sizes on the market for various types of toilet cisterns. He looked it up on his machine, went into the shop, brought out the parts, we both measured the one that would fit, and I bought it. It took all of 5 minutes. I returned home and fitted it. I am grateful to the kind gentleman for his patience and helpfulness; I think younger people can learn from some of us who are "old school". 2 star for Screwfix, as however good they may be, which they are; they are not helpful to those who may not be DIY specialists.
Was really impressed with my service here. They were really helpful when I went in to get some light bulbs. They helped me figure out what ones I needed and they were at a good price. There is a large easily accessible parking at the front of the store.
