We paid for a Wickes Fitted Bathroom. Design was fine, Installation has been a nightmare, we picked Wickes thinking that they would have good fitters who wanted repeat work. The fitter we got, have made shortcuts at every turn. I have a large number of issues but will highlight main ones highlighted to me by a plumber who came afterwards. 1. Instead of installing things with bolts provided, they have just used mastic, meaning remedial work is expensive and damaging. 2. Leaks, I am not on day 28 of having a leak coming down and staining my ceiling. Wickes are unable to get the installer to come but are refusing to use anybody else, or willing to re-inbuse me to get somebody local. 3. They plumbed OUT my shower pump and wanted to reinstall the pump next to the boiler to pressurise my whole hot water system. to fix we had to break through the walls to replumb. 4. I paid for tanking and water proofing the shower area, just not done but charged. 5. Finish, uneven tiling, poor grouting when brought up "this is how it is" The main problem is they believe these things are ok and that is the standard of work that should be delivered. If Reading or Oxford ask for Jackofalltrades or now renamed reddragonltd. Refuse.

I had trouble ordering online for the product I wanted so popped in to the Reading Branch. I met with Emma in customer services or the help desk (today) and I have to say what a pleasant experience. Not only was she helpful, patient and friendly, but she was very well informed and genuinely interested in helping me. I ordered tiles for delivery to Hampshire. Really impressed by the knowledge and friendliness provided. Thank you

A massive Alladins cave of building materials and accessories. I found a wide selection of small sampler pots of paint, although conversely, they all appeared to be an arrow spectrum of the same soft brown shades. Having worked in the manufacturing side of building materials, I always like to look at the range of goods on offer.

A decent shop with a good selection of tools and materials. I mostly use it work woodworking stuff. A couple of staff members are very helpful and polite. Others, not so much.

Dave just couldn't be a**ed to help with a paint enquiry and said whats on the shelf is what we got. Had to point out we managed to find it ourselves.

So I ordered a unit online that I returned to store. I was then charged 10% because the packing was damaged. (Stuck down so had to tear open). Phoned customer services and was told store discretion. Phoned citizens advise and they have reported to trading standards. Against the 14 day cool off when buying on line.

It’s like a tardis, it looks fairly big from the outside, but you go and it’s absolutely massive. Got everything in stock but screwfix tend to be a bit cheaper imo

Poor staff levels, told I can't get a ton bag for 2 days as no fork lift driver. Stock levels generally poor, good job we have a Selco round the corner!

A great discount store with ample parking and a huge choice of stuff to buy. We visited the bathroom and kitchen section. There were scores of items on display including baths, showers, cabinets, toilets and kitchen stuff and fittings. The section seemed a bit cluttered. The store was almost empty at about 4:30 pm on Saturday but we couldn’t find anyone to ask a question to choose the right type of complete toilet to buy. The toilets fitted in the showroom were badly looked after. The seats were loose and did not give the impression of good quality fitting. The female staff was helpful at the till to answer some of our query. We waited aimlessly for someone to arrive but no luck. Eventually we left and headed to another store!! Pity!!m
