   I visited YY Oriental Supermarket recently hoping to grab a quick meal from their food section, and I left feeling really let down - here’s why. First, the customer service was incredibly underwhelming. I was trying to place an order at the food counter, but an older woman (I’d guess around 40-50) who seemed to be working there kept completely ignoring me. I waited patiently for several minutes, making eye contact and trying to get her attention multiple times, but she just carried on with other tasks without acknowledging me at all. When I finally managed to speak up, her response was short and dismissive - it felt like I was bothering her just by being there. It’s hard to enjoy any meal when you’re made to feel invisible from the start. Then there’s the issue of value for money. I ordered a simple rice dish and a side, and was shocked by how much it cost - way more than I’d pay at other similar oriental supermarkets or takeaways in the area. To make it worse, the portion size was tiny. The rice was barely enough to fill half a small container, and the side was so small I finished it in two bites. For that price, I expected a meal that would actually leave me full, not one that left me wanting more. I know that sometimes businesses have off days, and one employee’s behavior might not reflect the entire team. But between the ignored service and the steep price for such a small portion, I can’t say I’d be in a hurry to go back. If you’re looking for a quick, affordable meal with decent service, I’d suggest looking elsewhere for now.

   It’s great to know that there’s another Asian mini supermarket in the east end of town centre. However, the choice is limited due to space and I’m sure if they had enough space there will be more product to buy. Maybe that’s why the isles are a bit crowded. The male staff member at the cash desk was extremely helpful and of pleasant manner. He seemed quite knowledgeable about the product on sale. The entrance ramp is narrow and very steep and slippery in rainy weather. An improvement may be an idea at this location.

   It’s always empty shelves here nowadays. I won’t recommend going to this shop to get your stuff as there is a high chance of them have nothing there. Go to Cmart in St Mary Butt, and SeeWoo or Seoul Plaza in town. Their shelves always fully stocked and cheaper with much better options.

   few months ago, I reported a missing item from an online order with them. they said they will check with the packaging team then get back to me. then they just disappear. They still haven't refund me or sent me replacement. I contacted them again chase up. they just ignored me.
