   Refused to sell me alcohol. I’m 34 years old and clearly look well over 25 years and haven’t been ID’d in years by any of your competitors. The one time I don’t have my ID on me they refuse to sell me it. The previous time about 2 years ago I was ID at another Waitrose so clearly they are way too strict, petty and unreasonable with their definition of what 25 years old looks like. I would understand if I were 10 years younger. Fortunately, I never regularly shop at Waitrose for their ridiculous high prices for branded products and treatment to legitimate customers like this! But now I have the inconvenience of having to drive to a better less petty supermarket

   I always get a a arm welcome here. The security staff always say hello to my granddaughter and I love the convenience of quick check, using a scanner and packing my shopping as I go. The trolleys are looking a bit tired but the shop is clean and bright.

   Premium supermarket without premium quality services. I usually shop at M&S and Waitrose at Caversham and services there are better. I feel like staff here are only doing the bare minimum. I do not feel welcomed.

   ⭐☆☆☆☆ Waitrose Café, Oxford Road, Reading – Disappointing experience I went in hoping to get something warm and comforting for my lunch. I asked at the till if they had any hot food, but was told there were only some paninis left — possibly from the previous day. However, one staff member said they could still do baked potatoes. I asked for a baked potato with cheese and extra butter, as I don’t like mine dry. After waiting around 15 minutes, my meal finally arrived. When I cut it open, I noticed straight away that the cheese hadn’t melted, and the potato itself was only partially warm — not hot as it should be. A proper baked potato should be piping hot, enough to melt the cheese easily. It’s not the young staff member’s fault — he looked like he might still be in school and probably hasn’t been trained properly. But that’s down to management. If the café can’t serve hot food correctly or train staff properly, it really lets the place down. Very disappointed overall. Won’t be ordering hot food here again.

   Our Christmas order was completely wrong and made up with substitutes. No notice given and we found out only upon collection. Things go wrong I get that but how it's dealt with is the thing you remember. A big thank you to Julie the manager who did her very best to put things right in the Reading store. You should be proud of her and in your training Christmas is back on for my 92 year old mother x

   An excellent location for an excellent outlet that is skyways a desirable place to do the shopping. Staffs are polite and helpful. There’s a free and ample parking on the site that is well looked after and kept clean. The access and exit from the car park is a bit windy and narrow but that’s a plus. It definitely keeps the drivers in check and forces them to make a slow and safe approach!

   What I like with this Waitrose, is that the shelves are always extremely well ordered. Polite staff and complemented by an excellent cafeteria with a choice of drinks, cold and hot food. There are always plenty of parking spaces. But when coming from Reading, the traffic on Oxford Road has to be considered. There are good and bad days when it comes to that.
