   So today was my first officially appointment at the salon and honestly couldn't have asked for a better experience. I have afro hair and both Lauren and tracy have took me on as their joint client and unlike some hairdressers that say they know what they're doing with my hair texture they definitely do. My consultation before this appointment was just as good. Both ladies sat me down and we had a chat about my long term hair goals and didn't just say yes to what I wanted but gave their own honest opinion as to what would actually benefit my hair which I really appreciate. The salon as a whole is great all staff are very lovely and caring l.

   The staff are so friendly and offer exceptional customer service. Lauren is amazing, she provides professional and honest advice. She took time to explain why she felt it was best to postpone my hair colour appointment. Voiced her concerns about my skin test and really put me at ease as it shows she cares about providing a quality service. She got a second opinion and again, options were clearly explained and my opinion asked. Thank you to Lauren and the young lady in training for a fab blow dry. Lauren arranged another date. I have faith in the salon and Lauren with the care of my hair. Thank you.

   Lou has always been amazing with me, i have a regular colour, cut and blowdry and have always received such good results delivered with excellent service. Lou is a lovely lady who is skilled in all aspects of hairdressing and her blowdry is on another level - simply magnificent ( and i have very fine curly hair which can frizz easily). Thank you Lou, i enjoy my session with you and love the results!

   I have trusted Lauren with my challenging hair for a long time now as she has taken time to know exactly what works for me. Every time I visit the salon I am made to feel welcome and treated with great care. Lauren is so passionate and takes great pride in ensuring her customers get an individual tailored service and I always leave feeling like a pampered new woman. It really is a form of therapy! 5 star experience every time.

   Wow, what a lovely experience, I’d popped into town to have my usual supercuts walk in spur of the moment hair cut, found it closed as was my second choice salon, so a quick google led me to SM arriving just before 4 they managed to get me in for a cut and blow dry, as we were led up to the most beautiful salon I have ever been in provided with drinks I started to panic what the bill for this might be! The staff were lovely not batting an eyelid at my wild untamed mop of hair! The wash was out of this world , massage chair and products that have left my hair feeling fabulous, a clear consultation to find out what I wanted so I was confident the stylist understood. A skilled and confident stylist who made and excellent job of the cut and styled it beautifully. She was engaging but didn’t chat endlessly about the weather which is such a relief, I came out feeling I’d had a real pamper and loving my new hair cut. And the price….. well I was pleasantly surprised at what amazing value it was. My reluctant teenager who has refused a haircut for two years has booked in for next weekend. Thank-you SM an all round brilliant experience

   Would recommend Sally Montague to anybody. :) Prior to coming to this salon (Old hall one in derby), i’ve been really anxious and really reluctant to go to salons - i just didn’t like them and this bothered me as i wanted my hair cut just without the stress. Been going to Lauren since last summer for a cut and blow dry and never looked back. Professional service in a relaxing environment & my hair looks healthier than ever.

   Racist and completely arrogant salon! If you are not a rich posh English lady do not bother! Get looked down on like you are dirt and not welcome there. This is the culture across all salons so it’s pretty obvious it stems from the top with Sally and the head team. I am not the first person to say this as I have heard from many people from minority groups state the same

   Had appointment cancelled for the second consecutive time .very disappointed to be let down a week before Xmas , just hrs before appointment it’s cancelled with no free appointments to re book In any salon . So appalled , now desperate to get hair done before Xmas party not a good way to treat a regular customer .and not a massively apology either .

   I used to visit Sally Montague for years as I love the great hair styling skills, customer service, their salons are well designed and there’s always a lovely coffee ready for you! But, as I get older I noticed this is not the most ethnically diverse salon in Derby which is a real shame considering how much the brand has grown. So of recent years I have chosen to take my custom to other establishments, as I am disappointed in this salon chain and it’s lack of change. Similarly if you look at the Sally Montague Instagram account, again not a great deal of diversity shown - if any at all. Please do better Sally Montague hair group.
