   I went in looking for Black Cow vodka, which they did have in stock. Then challenged staff to recommend a decent tasting wine with no odd or unpleasant after-taste. Somehow staff managed to find 3 and it took them all home. Ask for “Art Armenia”, a bottle I drank and enjoyed very much. Also note I had no hangover the next morning, always a sign of a decent quality bottle.

   We attended a wine tasting in preparation for a forthcoming wedding. It was most helpful as Claudio (assistant manager) introduced us to some excellent wines that we might not otherwise have considered. He was mindful of our tastes and our budget and was most informative and helpful. We left with a clear idea of the wines we'll choose and be putting in an order soon.

   Horrible service!! My husband and I generally spend well over £200 when we purchase wine. The one sales staff on duty paid attention to just one couple the entire time, never acknowledged us and had the audacity to take a bottle of wine out of my hand to sell to someone else without a word of explanation and when we asked him about that, he replied that it was a higher priced wine anyway at £29. We had already chosen 4 bottles of wine at a similar price point and felt that he was implying it was out of our price range. This company has just lost our patronage.

   I think the service is terrible . They have one salesman on a Saterday morning. I was in there today looking for some wine, the salesman was serving another couple this was taking forever. There was a lady sitting next to him at the till, she was not moving. In the end myself and hubby walked out, I won't be going back there ever again. That's a promise to myself.

   Visited today for the first time explained what red I liked, he rushed through choices while all staff looked on,so I choose 6 bottles quickly, I felt very rushed and uncomfortable,I left with my box and not one person moved to open the door,just stood and watched,I will not be back. Laithwaites are 5 star with service
