Quite possibly one of the best things about living in Basingstoke is having this place close by and honestly, even if I lived an hour away, I’d still visit regularly. The selection is as good as it gets anywhere, and the staff are fantastic: friendly, helpful, and they really know their stuff. Couldn’t recommend it more.

Great wine knowledge and enthusiasm and interesting stock I always enjoy visiting and buying. It's been many years since my first review of Berrys, and I continue to visit and hold the shop and its staff in the same high regard!!
It was our first visit to Berry Bros. We were excited as we had heard good things. On arrival there were around 5 drink trolleys blocking the entrance which made us think perhaps they were closed despite us checking their opening hours. There was a man inside on the phone who first ignored us then when I motioned if they were open gave a brief nod. We went in and all we got was a brief and not friendly hello. Whilst we were inside for around 10 minutes the 2 men were socially chatting and not once asked us if we needed any help. I thought it was quite rude to be honest. I was expecting with this brand a Fortnum & Mason style customer service. In the end I asked one of the men for his thoughts. It wasn't a great experience tbh. The 'service' was non existent and there was an air of snobbery. We much prefer the team at Caviste. At Caviste the team are friendly, welcoming, generous with tastings and clearly passionate about what they do and importantly are excellent with their customer service to everyone. We spend a fair bit on champagne and wine but we cannot stand snobbery and I will not support brands who perhaps only focus on high net worth individuals. It's off putting.
I have been frequently visiting this shop to buy whisky since 2 years ago. To be very honesty, I had great shopping experience every single time simply because the staff & advisors in this shop are all very helpful, knowledgeable about the spirits & wine they sell. The whisky corner in this shop is quite small, but if you let the staff know your preferences, it is likely they will find you some amazing bottles from the stock (sometimes not even listed in their online shop). Here I want to send special thanks to James. Earlier this year I mentioned to him about some whiskies I particularly like but they are spread very thinly in UK market. Then I was pleasantly surprised by an email from him telling me that they have got something I might be interested in. Only because of his help, I have managed to get my dream whiskies at a fair price. Thank you James. I have really enjoyed drinking them!
Nice wine shop with few fancy bottles. However I did not feel that the element of customer service ( which is expected at with BBR brand ) was present during my visit.
Genuinely helpful staff with deep knowledge and enthusiasm for their craft. Great wine - obviously- plus paraphernalia. Well worth a visit.
Great store for a wine lover. Always an interesting selection of bin ends and good deals to be had ;)
Awesome place for very good wine. Never had my favourite pink sancerre, but will not hold that against them!
