   What an absolute gem of a traditional timber yard. Recommended by a friend and I arrived and spoke to a very good mannered gentleman whose knowledge with wood was excellent. They had every different kind of wood imaginable and they looked after me perfectly, and the prices are excellent. I can highly recommend this company 10 / 10.

   I too bought sleepers from this company and they couldn't have been more helpful. I did have to wait a few days for the timber to be brought in from France. On arrival they even sawed them in half lengthways for me at no extra cost. When I went to collect them, they loaded it all on my trailer for me and even GAVE me some large oak timber offcuts. Definitely recommended. Thank you guys

   Bought Oak sleepers from here and had them delivered . All the sleepers were mostly in bad condition and 4 of them had wood worm in them. Took the 4 sleepers with wood worm back and asked the old guy in the yard if he could replace them. He was reluctant to exchange and tried to fob me off saying it wasnt a defect and that all the sleepers have wood worm as it was normal. Eventually he said he would replace it but then started huffing and puffing like he was annoyed that he had to replace them. I had previously cut one of the sleepers before noticing the wood worm, so when the old guy noticed this he angrily said how he would not be able to sell that sleeper again. Beware when buying from this company as you may get my old sleepers with wood worm.

   Helpful, friendly & knowledgeable staff who were able to answer my queries and arrange my order without fuss. My orders have been ready collect before the previously stated schedule on both occasions I've used this merchant. The timber I received was of excellent quality, cut to exactly the dimensions I specified and a delight to work with. I would deal with Hingley's again in the future.

   Sorry to hear the last customer was not happy, and did not want to wait whilst we were extremely busy and getting advanced orders prepared. We are not a retail shop and at most Timber Merchants there will be a lead time for preparing orders. It is a shame that my attitude has upset this customer as we supplied their wood within 10 minutes and charged them a good price. The fact that I asked them to call next time was to save any waiting on there behalf. We have extremely good reviews on the website and many fantastic photos of jobs we have done.
