   We had the most incredible day at Fairthorne Manor YMCA! The range of activities for the kids was outstanding – from Stand Up Paddleboarding and kayaking to rock climbing and abseiling, there was never a dull moment. The water slides kept everyone laughing non-stop, and the giant bouncing pillow was a huge hit! Every activity was well organised, safe, and so much fun – the kids were constantly smiling and building their confidence while trying new things. The staff were friendly, helpful, and full of energy, which made the whole experience even better. What really stood out was the value – for everything that’s included, the price is unbelievably cheap. For a full day of adventure, laughter, and memory-making, it’s worth every penny and more. We came away with amazing memories, tired but very happy kids, and a promise that we’ll definitely be back soon. Fairthorne Manor is a hidden gem and I can’t recommend it enough!

   Fairthorne family fun day was amazing! We all had so much fun and our girls got to try activities they had never tried before. The staff were brilliant and made our girls feel safe and supported teaching them technique and skill so they could build confidence snd participate fully.

   We had the most amazing family day at Fairthorne Manor. The staff were friendly and great! Perhaps some more / better signage to the various events would be good, we missed the pond dipping (we only found this once we were at the top of the kayaking queue) and we never found the nature / scavenger hunt. The price of the tickets was affordable and we spent a full day doing new and fun activities.

   Campsite review only (not the activity centre, who were fantastic) We have recently had a large group at YMCA Fairthorne for the second year running. We were shocked this year at the state of the shower/loo block. Overflowing sanitary bins, blocked and dirty loos, toilet paper all over the floor. I did mention this at reception at the time but nothing was done about it. We were there for 2 nights and they were not cleaned once. It really ruined our experience and we won't be returning next year. Such a shame because the setting is lovely. This review is purely based on the state of the campsite/toilet block. The staff down at the river were wonderful and really helpful.

   Used the “River Launch” for another day on Hamble River. Fairthorne’s river launch gives you access to the most beautiful parts of Hamble river. If you turn left after launching you can go all the way to the waterfall (Sluice gate) at Botley Mill. It’s a lovely paddle with plenty of wildlife as you navigate the winding river up to Botley, passing under the road bridge with the bell you can ring at “The hidden tap” on the Flour mill wall and then opening up to the waterfall which lets the freshwater from the upper Hamble meet the salt water from the lower tidal river. Turn right and stay right and it’s another wonderful paddle all the way to “The Horse and Jockey” pub in Curbridge. Alternatively turn right after launching then take a left and the Hamble River will take you all the way to the Solent. Plenty of picnic spots in the way. Just got to remember it’s tidal ! Many people have been caught out by the lack of water coming back after a long paddle. Fairthornes river launch opening and closing times differ each day to match the tides. Those opening hours let you know how long you have on the water. There is a kiosk selling snacks and drinks but sadly there’s no toilets.

   We had a lovely stroll around the woods for the Halloween walk. We were given a check list of things to find. Was all laid out great and the little one liked her little bag of sweets she won for completing it. The brownie in the cafe was lovely.

   Excellent place in every way. My grandson went to Forest school here. We have camped on numerous occasions. My grandson has been paddle boarding, canoeing, zip wiring and much, much more. Lots to do here.5*

   Lovely spot to camp (by the looks of it) and take your kayak/SUP. Pontoon etc to launch your kayak and have a great paddle up and down the river. Nice spot to relax there too. £5.50 per launch however stops me giving it 5 stars.
