This guest house confuses minimalism with neglect. The 'historic charm' is peeling plaster, and the 'tranquil location' is simply quiet desperation. Any queries are swiftly handled by Sam, whose managerial style can best be described as one of aggressive indifference. You will pay for a room, and receive precisely that. Nothing more.
Nothing bad to say about this hotel. Definitely staying here again.
This hotel is a gem. I been travelling for 4 years to several places in the UK and I never ever had a greater experience than I did here. It has everything you'd want, including good room privacy, Uber Eats works fine (I can collect at my door) and they gave us complimentary breakfast which I liked. Boy they had a variety of stuff I liked. I also liked how it was in the middle of nowhere. It's a kink of mine hehe
It is really a great place to stay. Although I had doubts with all the reviews from the past, as I stayed, I found it really comfortable and nice, with free Wi-Fi, along with delicious breakfast, and also the owner and staff here are very friendly and nice.
Bow House offers excellent value for money and a really lovely service. The owners are really lovely. They are attentive without being overbearing. I needed an overnight stop and was pleased to have found them. It was just me and I only needed a bed and shower so when I saw the cost of all the other rooms in the area, I was relieved to find somewhere more reasonably priced. Genuinely, Bow House is worth every penny.

This place should be shut down. It is disgusting in cleanliness...the streets are much cleaner. There are stains all over the carpet, walls n curtains...damp on walls. Kettle plug fell apart ...there was a fly under a tea cup. Stinks of urine.. absolutely disgusted. They are not even doing breakfast yet getting paid for it...they did not even change the bed just remade it with a the week old same bedding. Did not service the room at all apart from sweeping floor with dust pan n brush n not even under bed. I would not let an animal sleep in this place! Takes about 20 minutes trying to lock the door as lock not working correctly!...have photos and going to report this further. You would of thought it was covid clean n sanitised....no way! You would probably catch everything here!
Welcoming, very clean and good value for money. An enjoyable stay.
50 £ for one night without reservation. The room was clean and the shower as well. The breakfast was no so tasty but at least it was included in the room price.
