Lovely little theatre with easy parking. Small bar and coffee shop but not much room for indoor seating so if you arrive early you will be standing around until the doors open. May not be so bad in the summer as there is an outside area but I visited in December and it was cold and wet. Other than that I would recommend a visit.
So so impressed by A Christmas Carol with its adaptation to a Reading context. Timeless messages. Fabulous acting, especially Scrooge. What a treat to have this intimate theatre nearby with stellar shows, acting and writing talent. Thank you.
We went to see A Christmas Carol and it was amazing. I've lived hear Reading gorgeous over 25 years and this is my first time visiting the Rep. It definitely will not be my past. Can't wait for future productions
Our first visit to this theatre,although I've passed many times, intending to attend. Easy on site parking, nearby eateries. This is a delightful intimate small theatre with bar and outside space where we enjoyed a pre-performance drink Set in a listed Building, a repurposed Salvation Army Hall, I was amused by the retained original side entrance "Young People's Hall" We saw The Last Five Years, a bravura performance by the two experienced leads, great singing voices and acting, on a minimal set accompanied by musicians , who also provided some characters. The audience gave a standing occasion at the end. For me the play was reminiscent of New York theatre and Woody Allen. Afterwards we had an opportunity to thank the cast as they passed by the exterior pergola.
Fantastic local theatre experience. We saw a performance of The Christmas Carol which was superb. Really clever how the story has been reworked to be based in Reading and the Huntley & Palmers factory. Very enjoyable night out
Went to see the matinee performance of Jekyll and Hyde. It was spellbinding! The performance by a single actor, to portray the depth and variation of all the characters, with the support of a handful of simple props and a deceptively simple stage and light arrangement was superb! Bravo!
Nice little theatre. Sitting nicely spread so everyone can clearly see stage. Benches not as comfortable as they look. Better description on what's on would be appreciated. Went to see jeckyl and hide expecting a play with actors and it turned out to be a one person show. Good selection of crafted beer.
Excellent small theatre. We saw Jekyll and Hyde and all thought it was very good indeed, Audrey Brisson delivered an enjoyable, powerful one-woman performance. The only drawback is uncomfortable seating, otherwise this would be a 5 star venue.
Fantastic venue and brilliant performance of Jekyll and Hyde. The writing was really interesting and original, imaginative direction and astounding performance. The theatre is small and intimate with a nice bar and plenty of parking.
