So happy with our beautiful kitchen! We always get compliments from visitors. Simple fixtures (you won't get soft-close or fancy shnizzle) but we absolutely love the rustic look. Thanks Pete!
Firstly I would like to thank Pete and his team at Oakwood furnishings for the brilliant workmanship of all the items I have commissioned over the years from bedroom furniture , dining tables chairs and several pieces for my living room. I would and have recommended Oakwood Furnishings to many of my friends and family and have all have been very complimentary about Pete and his team they go above and beyond. I would most certainly recommend this company to anyone they have been in business for many years and offer a range of woods from the soft Scandinavian pine ,rustic pine to oak I was a bit confused about a kitchen review recently the kitchen from the look of it was made from Scandinavian pine which is great but it is a soft wood, I would have gone for the rustic which is a bit more harder wearing but that’s a lot more money I suppose it comes down to what budget you have, this certainly doesn’t portray the company I have had dealings with over the years.
I've been following oakwood furnishings for a few years on Facebook looking at there amazing kitchens and knowing that I will have one, one day. Well I've saved and I'm having my kitchen done in stages. This is a photo of stage one it is truly amazing. Pete and his team are nice people to have working in my home .I'm looking forward to stage 2 in a few weeks and stage 3 next year
Oakwood Furnishings of Derby are a shameful, shambolic outfit, that give small businesses a very bad name. We tentatively started kitchen planning a couple of years ago. Pete, the one man show of Oakwood Furnishings came out a number of times to listen to our ideas and measure up. By early 2024 he was still measuring up. Anything we had previously discussed, he had forgotten, as no working plan was delivered except a crude drawing when he was at the fitting stage. We should have seen all the early warning signs. Asking for substantial deposits in advance of the job and a rude, argumentative and aggressive manner, that got worse as the weeks progressed. The wood used to make these 'rustic' constructions is soft wood and not fit for purpose in most kitchen environments. Because of Pete's inability to provide a working plan, we have been left with units that fall short of what we asked for and wall unit doors that have significant gaps. I would add that Pete was demanding money from us before the job was finished and threatening to leave the job unfinished if we didn't (actually wish he had now) This is not a business, that works with customers and is bothered about feedback, quite the opposite. When we attempted to contact Pete to discuss concerns that we had and our consumer rights, he had blocked us, something that is a bit of a pattern and trend for him I gather. If something appears a bit 'off' about Oakwood Furnishings, follow that gut feeling, it really really is off, and the practices of its lead character Pete, nothing more than shameful
I messaged Oakwood furnishings, back at the end of January to make a custom bed for my daughter. Was told would take around 4/5 weeks to make I messaged again in March to get an update and was informed that would be updated by the end of March, which I was happy with. I re-messaged end of March and was told it would be middle of April, which again I stated was fine. I have then gone to message for another update, as not heard anything to find out I have been blocked!! Absolutely disgusting behaviour, for no reason either. I'm glad I did not pay any money for this yet and will not be using going forward. If you didn't want the job, you were still behind on jobs, or whatever reason then you could have just messaged and been honest about it!
I've had two beds made by Pete and his team. I've just finished assembling and installing the most recent once. I upgraded from a double to a super-king. I rate the products and services highly for a number of reasons. Firstly, value for money. I'm really very impressed with getting giant solid bed that's been hand made out of lots of wood. The quality of the beds is excellent - they were easy to assemble and look just great. Lastly, Pete didn't charge for delivery - it must have been a 1.5 hr round trip from his workshop to my address. See the photo I've uploaded and compare this to what you typically get in a bed shop. This thing is solid.
Bought a fantastic extendable dining table and some chairs which look great in our dining room. Very high quality products at good prices. Will be going back for more!
We've recently had Pete and his amazing team create some bespoke furniture for our house. The service and quality of work have been fantastic and I can't recommend them highly enough. The guys are super creative and have the skills to produce work for any property
