We were picked up from Stansted last night, Boxing Day 2025. While the driver was on time picking us up from Stansted, the price of Β£121 was not what was originally quoted, which was Β£75 plus Β£7 for access to the express pick up. The weather was a little foggy in patches. It was below freezing with gritters out in force, the driver had scant regard for speed limits. Regularly, 30, 40 and 50mph speed limits were ignored and I saw speeds of over 80mph for most of the journey up the M11. Remember, the weather was inclement and not suited to high speed driving. The only time the driver kept to the speed limit was through roadworks where the speed limit is reduced to 40mph monitored by active speed cameras. I couldnβt believe my ears when the driver actually bragged he had scant regard for speed limits, something I pointed out as the driver seemed unaware. Also, the driver used main beam a lot and hardly ever used dipped beam which resulted in drivers of oncoming vehicles being dazzled. I canβt believe this standard of poor driving from somebody who is supposed to be a professional. Iβm really not happy with the driver and Iβm really not happy with the price increase of Β£50 above the initial quote which I feel is unacceptable, but what could I do? I felt held to random. Could I ask the management at A1 to remind their drivers speed limits are there for safety purposes, they are not a challenge. Could I also ask A1 management to give accurate prices and based on last nightβs performance, I doubt Iβll ever use A1 Cars again.

I've heard no shortage of horror stories and my experience wasn't awful, but it was insulting, having used A1 for years, I ordered a taxi for myself and a service dog, and upon repeating the same journey I was overcharged, my intelligence insulted, and disrespected, upon calling management (Adam) instructed me that they did not have any of my journeys logged, that I have not ordered a taxi from them, apparently they did not send a driver. My frustrations were explained quite frankly and Adam was unable to explain how I called them, a driver that wasn't affiliated with A1 came to collect me, did not log the journey but took my money anyway? And then proceed to tell me what I did or did not say? Truly pitiable customer service, rude and disrespectful operators and drivers that apparently are not affiliated with A1 are prone to steal fares. I cannot stress enough how I truly think your patronage would be appreciated with safety far away from A1 cars

Used A1 cars (driver 137) for a Luton airport back to Clapham late Saturday night collection. The office team βRachelβ was superb taking the booking in advance - the communication throughout was also superb via text . Our plane was late in (Storm Claudia) and there was no moaning from the driver in fact he was smiley and friendly - clean car and careful driving. Thereβs a lot of bad fake reviews for this company - we highly recommend them .
