   I can't thank SpaMedica in Derby highly enough. Within days of my optician sending a referral I had my preassessment with SpaMedica followed by my procedure the next week. The support throughout was nothing short of superb while the procedure itself was incredibly quick and painless. The staff were all so professional and courteous. The resulting improvement in my vision is just amazing. Thank you so much.

   I had my first ever eye test at Specsavers on the 6th October. By the end I had been referred to Spamedica for cataract surgery. Yesterday 18th October the surgery took place. The staff were excellent, professional but at the same time kind and considerate, taking my anxiety into account at every step. The surgeon "Sandy" explained everything that was going to happen and put me at ease. He even arranged for someone to hold my hand throughout the procedure! Day 2 and I cannot believe the difference! Thank you to everyone involved and all within 12 days!

   Took my elderly mum with Alzheimer’s for a consultation at Spa Medica Derby. The level of care we received was appalling. I explained my mums condition wasn’t to be discussed with her and the first thing the nurse said to my mum was I hear you have a fear of hospitals and you have dementia. How unprofessional. In what world is this exceptable. The lady eye doctor we saw hardly made eye contact with my mum, just clicking away on her computer , her delivery of information was so negative and said in a parrot fashion. I Asked would I know the surgeons name prior to surgery , her reply was it could be anyone, we have clinics all around the area so no idea. They had no empathy, this is a scary procedure for a lady in her 80,s house bound, and suffering with Alzheimer’s . All this information was given prior to the consultation. I left the clinic in tears. I definitely would not recommend this clinic if you are at all nervous or vulnerable.

   I had two cataract operations at SpaMedica in Derby. The left eye is fine but the right eye is now worse than it was when I had a cataract. The vision in my right is extremely blurred when trying to read using reading glasses. My distance vision in my right eye is also terrible; I can only read a car number plate at 15 foot! I have seen my optician and she says I will need laser surgery at SpaMedica to try and correct the problem.

   From the moment I walked into Spamedical in Derby earlier today I could not have asked for better care. It is an amazing place doing an amazing job. I was a bit nervous at the thought of having my cataract done but the staff made me at ease immediately. My appointment was 8.30 I was home at 10am. From the receptionist to the theatre staff they were so professional and friendly. I cannot recommend this place enough I shall look forward to them doing my other eye with confidence in their skills

   I was seen and treated at SpaMedica this week, having been referred by my optician. I cannot praise the way this clinic is run highly enough. The entire staff is outstanding and I was completely comfortable from start to finish. I received consultant laser treatment within 24 hours for a condition which had not been detected by my optician. I was later that day followed up by a Derby hospital consultant who was very approving of the treatment I had received. The improvement in the vision in my right eye is amazing. Thank you to all concerned. My confidence in the availability of first class care in the time of COVID has been entirely restored.
