From booking to leaving exceptional service throughout. The booking process was smooth and I got a great deal going directly to Marstons. The hotel room was clean, spacious, warm and I didn’t need anything everything was provided. I had the best night sleep in a comfy bed. There was no noise from the restaurant or the car park. The meal and breakfast were beautiful, hot and fresh with so much choice. Every member of staff was so friendly and inviting. We only stayed one night sadly I wish we had done more but the stay we had was one of the best. I will most definitely be back again. Thank you to all the amazing staff you were great.

Great experience at Crewe & Harpur - friendly and welcoming reception on arrival to a beautifully located Inn on the banks of the River Trent and right next to the famous Swarkestone Bridge. The room was clean, tidy and well appointed with a very comfy bed. The bathroom, likewise, was very clean and spacious and the shower was hot and powerful although the shower controls are tricky to use if you have soapy hands. After checking in, I went to the bar/restaurant for a meal and, again, the service was great as was the food itself. I tried both the ales on tap and enjoyed them! My sleep was excellent and, despite having the window open, was not disturbed by any traffic which, at night, is very light anyway. Breakfast was great - a good choice and very well prepared/presented by more friendly staff. All in all, a great stay made all the better by the people who work there.

Ate at the pub with some friends after walking in the area. We had booked a table online which was an easy process. We were greeted at the entrance and had a short wait for our table and a friendly and helpful member of staff came over to take our orders for drinks and food. Food arrived in about 20 minutes and my burger was very tasty and filling. The building and atmosphere is great and it was lovely to be able to catch up with friends during the meal. We made use of the 40% offer off mains that was running and it was excellent value.

We ate in the pub, but didn't have a room. The pub and surroundings were very comfortable and clean. We were given a warm welcome and our food and drink orders were delivered promptly. Not many vegan options, so we both had the flatbread with bbq cauliflower "wings". It was very tasty, with chunks of bell pepper, onion, tomato, and squash, drizzled with a tasty but not overpowering BBQ sauce, served with fresh greens on a large, soft flatbread with a side of fries. We both enjoyed it. Washed down with a pint of cherries and berries cider (I couldn't help but smile when I heard the hostess singing our order) it was good for a hot day after a hike from the boat on the nearby canal, and we left in good spirits. If you go, don't be confused by the duplicate location on Google maps which points to someone's house! You want the one on the corner across from the bridge. The error has been reported to Google.

Had a meal, fish and chips! Fish batter burnt and dried out fish. Won't bother again. Left comments with staff to update the chef.

Food is excellent (except puddings were freezing when supposed to be warm ) service was terrible and too long to take order also food and drinks to long to arrive . Redeemed themselves with apology and discount after complained about a service in particular. Shame as been before and food is lovely but need to up the game on service .

Went with friends for the Festive Menu and we were delighted with the meal. One of us had Salmon which was cooked beautifully and thoroughly enjoyed. Two of us had the Turkey, it was a delicious meal with generous portions, vegetables cooked to perfection, roast potatoes absolutely gorgeous, and the turkey was succulent. Thoroughly enjoyed and clean plates all round. A varied Dessert menu provided us with difficult choices, we all chose differently. I had an amazing apple crumble with gingerbread ice cream, heavenly. My friends had cheesecake and Christmas pudding respectively. Ambience and service were first class. We all agreed, an excellent experience and looking forward to going again in the very near future.
