We felt really looked after our entire stay, Lauren and marija are a real credit to the team making our stay so pleasant. The beds were really comfy and the room was clean and warm. The breakfast was very nice and even with free coffee in the mornings, paired with exceptional service from Michael and Saskia each morning. The city is within walking distance which is really handy for people who may want to do shopping .Shall definitely be returning .

Lauren and the staff on site are always welcoming and friendly. They make every effort to try and ensure your stay is comfortable and pleasant. The meals / food in the hotel is lovely, freshly cooked, always hot and tasty and plentiful. Whilst some of the hotel bedrooms and the corridors that serve them are in need of some much needed renovation, the hotel is trying to get these things sorted but things take time. The bedrooms are however, comfortable and clean which, for me, is the main thing. Thanks Lauren and staff

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. The food was exceptional — fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavour at every meal. The overall atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, and the service throughout my stay was consistently excellent. I would happily recommend this hotel to anyone looking for great hospitality and outstanding dining. I look forward to returning!

Avoid this hotel- Review for The Stuart Hotel, Derby (Stay: 19–22 November) I stayed at The Stuart Hotel for four nights and unfortunately had a consistently poor experience. The biggest issue was the hot water — it lasted only a couple of minutes each day. By the time I applied soap, the water would turn completely cold, and this happened throughout my stay. My colleagues staying in the same hotel faced the exact same problem, so it wasn’t an isolated incident. No water bottles provided in the room. There was no support from the hotel for basic essentials like toothpaste or a toothbrush, which most hotels normally provide on request. The carpets and furniture in the room and common areas looked worn out and not well maintained. Breakfast was average at best and didn’t stand out in terms of quality or variety. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a comfortable, hassle-free stay. There are better options in Derby that provide a far more reliable experience.

Nice hotel, easy to find, parking available on site. We were visiting Derby to see the mighty Leveller’s at the Valliant Live venue. The Stuart is only a 10 mins walk so well located to use as a base if attending a concert. Plenty of parking on site, make sure you pay via the machine in reception. Rooms are clean and respectable, well maintained and clean, wardrobe, TV and coffee and tea making facilities. Well worth trying, reasonably priced and included breakfast.

OK hotel, not great, not terrible. Good location for the station and shopping mall Derbion. Rooms of good size with coffee/tea making facilities. However, the heating was from a single electrical radiator, so it was too hot around it while cold in other places. The bathroom floor especially was stone cold. Sound proofing was poor. Easy to hear other guests flushing the toilet, entering and exiting doors etc. Reasonable breakfast for a UK hotel.

Location of hotel is very close to the town centre and the reception staff were really friendly, these are the only positives I can find for the hotel. Our room at the front of the hotel was very tired, the curtains wouldn’t close fully and needed to find something to hold them closed. The bathroom didn’t get much better, the toilet seat was broken and the shower never got hot. There were holes in the enamel of the bath that look like they had been filled in and not been smoothed and there was mould around the sealant. Went for breakfast on our first morning at 8:30 and the buffet was virtually empty and didn’t get refilled so decided against for the second day. All in all it feels like the hotel is in need of a refurb and bringing up to date

Decided on this hotel as visiting family in Derby and hotel was near the train station. Staff are good, welcoming, etc, and check-in was easy. Our room was ok though bit small I feel for a 3 night stay. Having said that it was very comfortable. We had breakfast each morning. Service staff were friendly and helpful. There was good variety if you got to the restaurant early enough, but after around 8.20/8.30am, choices were limited as certain items had run out. Overall a good hotel and would return.

This hotel has a great location, it is only few hundred meters from the Derby train station and city center. Nearby is also few pubs and shops. The hotel location is quite though total depend which room you get. I think, the interior of rooms can be improved as they feel a bit dated. Bathroom had low pressure so it was also a small issue. Because of the construction work, it was little noisy and at the same time, a bit boring view from the window. Biggest plus for me was the staff, it was lovely staff and breakfast was also nice. Overall, it is a good hotel with few issues. I can recommend this hotel on my positive experience of staff and the charges being reasonable.

Stayed for a night with wife. Opted for a bigger room and had loads of space. Clean and tidy with usual extras and a small fridge and safe. Bar facility was comfortable. Unfortunately had to call reception due to noise 00h45 from room next door as wall paperthin. Mattresses were 2 single pushed together, so got stuck cuddling up to the wife which made sleep worse. On leaving corridor smelt of weed. Overall not a bad place, just some personal issues.
