I would not recommend staying here. The room had a strong cigarette smell, and I did not feel safe at all. The property is in very poor condition β the bathroom didnβt even have a door, and the bed sheets and duvet looked old. We didnβt even last an hour in the room and ended up booking another hotel the same day. The staff were friendly, but he couldnβt give a refund because he βlost customers.β The photos on the website are not accurate at all. Overall, avoid this place.

Where do I start? On my way to the hotel I was reading the reviews and started getting very worried I would have to make a last minute booking somewhere else. The only reason I didn't give one star is because it looks that there's been slight improvement. I had clean sheets and a (mostly) clean room, without bugs or anything that would stop me from staying. That's where the positives end. First, the room is in need of a refurbishment. The paint was bad, flooring bad, and the furniture was old and falling apart. There were drinks wrappers stuck to the wall and other weird things that probably shouldn't have been there. The kettle was absolutely horrible, not only was it half full when I arrived but after emptying it... just look at the picture! The lock on the door was very shabby and you could see through it, but if you have something to put in front of the door it's not so bad. The corridoors had a really weird smell to them that I couldn't place but it stayed clear of my room at least. No toilet/shower in the room, the toilet was in the corridoor and had no soap/toilet paper. These are left in the room when you arrive to bring with you to the bathroom. I'm unsure where the shower was but after the general shabbyness of the rest of the hotel I decided I wasn't going to try find it. Overall, it was Β£35 and close to the city, although in a more sketchy area. You get what you pay for, but don't expect a clean, safe room! I wouldn't recommend staying here solo, especially as a woman. Nothing happened to me but something felt off the entire time I was there.

deffo avoid this place! smells awful like cigarettes and damp. the rooms were really poor, no door in the bathrooms. mould all over the shower. really uncomfortable bed & the sink is just randomly in the bedroom. as someone who is from derby, the area the hotel is in isnβt very safe, especially for females. please avoid. also police were literally at the hotel when I arrived there due to some of the guests arguing.

Let us start this review with a positive note. Hang on, hang on..... im thinking... Ooh, ooh, thought of one... On a positive note, the door to leave the place works reasonably well, it sticks abit, but that's character building, it just makes you more determined to make it work... The one guy we saw who works there, was polite an friendly but the place itself is an absolute hovel. The carpets are thread bare, the curtains were as thin as a bed sheet, the bedding was grey with age, There were cigarettes burns everywhere, the shower door wouldn't close properly, so the bathroom floor was flooded with water draining away through the convenient but I'm assuming unintentional tares in the lino, the handle on the bedroom window was broken off, the only electrical device in the room that was pat tested was the telly... so maybe steer clear of the extension lead and the lamp that's plugged into it. I genuinely feel this establishment should be paying its patrons Β£45 to stay there even then that wouldn't be enough. Another thing I'd also like to point out is the time saving measure this place offers with regard to making a humble cuppa tea... Rather than congesting your busy day with having to take an individually wrapped teabag out of its own hygienically protective state, oh no... this place has bypassed that inconvenience by placing a very generous two bags straight from the box to the cup... We've survived this place as two healthy adults with decent immune systems, if you're anything less than that, consider purchasing a haz-mat suit first.

Don't go here if I could give this property no stars I would. The pictures on the website are no way a true selection of what the room we was given actually looks like. It was so bad we refused to stay. No bathroom door a curtain was in its place . The grime round the shower tray we'll I wouldn't shower my dogs in there. No breakfast but we was told we could cook our own yuck no thank you. The building is old and dirty and run down this is incorrectly advertised and should not be allowed no wonder it's so cheap

Its cheap but very poor. Sink in bedroom had been leaking for over a week and carpet soaking, I dare not look under the sheet, but the bed looked 30 years old, I would advise booking elsewhere unless price is that important.

If I could give it 0 stars then I seriously would do! I was meant to stay there for 3 nights, I lasted not even 14 hours! If I drove and had a car I would of slept in that! The bathroom had black mould all over the ceiling! The bed side cabinet was wet and not sure why or what it was! I fell asleep around 11pm and by 2am I woke up to bite Marks all over my arm, wrist and forehead! I paid Β£90 and all he gave me back was Β£40 blaming it on a Nigerian woman who had stayed before! Thought it was disgusting, he said he wouldn't give me anymore back as I refused to change to a different room! Obviously I ain't guna stay there another minute let alone another night! It's a doss hole and not worth Β£1 let alone Β£90!!! Seriously AVOID this place at all costs!

The good thing about this hotel is that it is on the main street and the good thing is also the customers are very respectful but I would like if they change the bed quilt for every new customer who comes to the hotel/ More good luck to the hotel and I wish you a gpod future

Seems to be a theme. We arrived and were told the rooms were not available. We ended up accepting a 'family' room and a mattress. Had the guy we meet at check-in asking for payment at 1am or he would call the police. Ended up threatening him with the police if he didn't leave us alone. Place needs some serious investment. It's not clean, but the guy clearly has a daily battle with keeping the place going. Bed bugs a real possible issue.
