Positives Cheap Breakfast included (good selection and fair quality, quite impressed) Friendly staff Clean in most places Free parking At the back of the hotel the view is impressive Large mirrors Large bathroom Negatives Water pressure terrible TV β€˜worked’ but not well Badly overcharged at restaurant for dinner Divan bed was stained Under bed had not been vacuumed recently - turned round to my baby chewing a cigarette filter! I thought I’d picked up all the muck but evidently not As in all hotels, lack of plug sockets Lift not working

Had an overnight stay here and was perfect for our needs. Set on a main road with free parking and only a 15 minute walk from Derby centre. Currently undergoing a major renovation. Our rooms were adequate and reasonable for the price paid, but decor very tired and uncomfortable bed. Breakfast was nice, if a little random with shop bought items laid out still in their packaging. Cooked breakfast was good.

Went to Amand's restaurant located in the International Hotel. The restaurant is beautifully fitted out and has a lovely relaxed atmosphere. The service from the staff was very professional. They are clearly well trained. The food was very well presented and excellent quality. Overall well worth paying that little bit extra.

We celebrated our little ones first birthday at the hall downstairs at International hotel. We had a really good experience. The food was scrumptious and everything was very well manged by the helping staff. Would highly recommend.

My room was clean and warm, if a little dated. There were no plug sockets near the bed. The hotel foyer is nice and the staff were all friendly and helpful. The buffet style breakfast was mediocre and although there was plenty of food I think it had been sat out a while. It was also very uncomfortably quiet in the breakfast room and could have used some music to break the awkwardness a bit. Overall I would say it was good and I would stay there again.

The hotel was undergoing a refurb when we stayed so it was a little difficult to locate with the front of the hotel not looking as expected. We wear greeted by a lovely receptionist call Anya who was extremely helpful. Because of the refurbishment the restaurant was shut. We had a takeaway that we bought earlier on our journey and the owner(who was sitting at reception)offered to heat it up! What great service! It was even brought to our lovely refurbished room with plates and cutlery. Great hotel, would definitely recommend.

I stayed here for work, needed something cheap and cheerful. It was excellent value for money, the check in was brilliant, great customer service. It has parking but the car park is down a slope at the back but plenty of spaces. I specifically requested a room far away from everything as I'm a light sleeper so was put on the third floor (if you have accessibility problems you might want to request a lower floor room as there are many staircases!) however I was still woken at 1 and 2 am by slamming doors. Guess it's inevitable in bigger hotels where there are lots of rooms. The room was basic and fairly clean although a bit dusty in areas and the bathroom smelt a bit like mildew. But I still think it was good value for money.

Do not go to this hotel (even Faulty towers would be an improvement). We booked this place for one nights stay, the photos on the website looked quite good. They must have used a good photographer because they looked nothing like the hotel. Firstly front of the hotel looked run down and in need of a good paint and clean (looking nothing like the photos), the car park looked big and in good order on the photos - however when we visited most of it was closed off and the rest looked a mess with debris and overgrown bushes. The reception area looked dated but the staff was very pleasant and helpful. However it went downhill when we made our way to our room, the stairs and decor were very run down and in need of a good clean and redecoration. On arrival at our room we found the bathroom door had a fist size hole on the outside, the room felt cramped and dirty and in much need of redecoration/updating. The worst part was the very dirty bed base which was very unstable and rocked from side to side and was obviously broken. On asking for another room we were told none were available and maintenance would look at the bed. The chap that arrived was so disinterested he may well not have bothered. Getting a refund was the best option and going to Premier inn was like going to a palace compared to the International hotel.
