The worst hotel room I have ever stayed in. The mold in the coffee machine water tank was the icing on the cake. Management didnt seem bothered when I raised it when leaving. Was told I would get a call, but you can guess what happened. Yep. NOTHING. I would avoid this place like the plague. Considering court action for a total disregard for my health.

Sunday carvery was really nice with plenty of food although, my idea of a carvery is where you help yourself and just have the meat carved for you. This is just table service. All of the staff are about 16 year old kids, with little to no knowledge of the beers they sell or the food options. I went for chicken and beef and was charged £5 extra for the chicken which wasn’t explained properly! The service was good and my server was really nice though. They pack people in really tight as well.

Stopped by for food as just passing on a Tuesday night. Allowed into bar area for food with our dog. Carvery was available to our surprise. Hadn't had one for a while so we both picked that (fiancé and I, not the dog). So glad we did as it is one of the best, if not best, carvery we have had. All parts of the food was perfectly cooked for us, meat tender, vegetables delicious. Was like what my mum or gran would cook. Portions very generous as well. Proper homecooked. Service was great. Super friendly and accommodating. Sat next to a real log fire as well.

Just got back home to Cornwall after a lovely few days staying here. We stayed in 5A. The room was very clean and spacious. Only criticism was the step outside back door was very high really needs another step. A big thank you to Costa and Precious they were very welcoming when we arrived. Also Jake and Ben for looking after us every evening. Will definitely stay here again when visiting family.

Friendly, prompt and efficient service. Food was hot and delivered to the table after own carvery selection. Good selection of desserts including dairy free and vegan options.

First time I have visited today for food. And it was amazing. One of the best carvery’s I have ever had, if not thee best. Great price also. Will definitely be back. Staff were really kind and helpful too. 10/10.

We booked last minute on the same night, our room was small and basic but clean and comfortable - and the room rate is very good value. The pub/restaurant is very homely with a nice atmosphere and we found the food to be lovely home cooked pub grub. Staff very friendly too. We’re passing through but if we’re back in the area, The Taphouse will be our go to, we liked it a lot here.

Very nice old public house with a modern twist. The staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble. The menu was extensive and caters for most requirements. I will be returning again in the future as i thought it was a nice pub in a lovely setting. I would recommend a visit if you are in the area.
