   What a delightfully cheerful place this is. The hospitality and the service were spot one. Familly run for 12 years and the food all homemade. Starter was crayfish and prawns in dill mayonnaise served wrapped in a smoked parcel. Main course of venison pie withe veg and homemade chips Dessert bakewell tart. All beautifully made and presented. We will be back again many thanks Randy Andi and Sexy Stu

   Delightful pub. Excellent food and service. I haven't given 5 stars because of the old woman working. She was extremely pushy with the lady on the table next to us. The customer wanted a glass of wine and she was trying to railroad her into buying a bottle. Unpleasantly forceful. When I came to pay she said, 'well, you've had a lovely evening ( how did she know?!) and was it OK to round the bill up to give a tip to the 'kids'. 1, she should not be doing that and 2, I paid by card so would the tip actually go to the staff? Shame she spoilt the evening

   It was a wild and windy night. Fabulous welcome entering the pub with 2 fires burning and excellent staff. The food offered was a good mix of traditional fare with some modern twists. Everything was homemade and tasty. Because of this, it is not a hurried experience. So enjoy.

   Honestly stumbled on this pub by chance and wow. The best country pub I've been too. Cosy warm, unreal food and dessert was amazing. Staff spot on dog friendly, views are beautiful. Great pub you should go if your googling pubs nearby you won't be disappointed

   A warm and welcoming pub with lots of character. My boyfriend and I popped in after being on a long walk and they were accommodating despite us having not booked a table and it being Boxing day. We only intended on having a snack but the menu was too impressive to ignore and we went with the pot roast pheasant and rabbit and ham hock pie. Both were incredible but the pheasant was especially beautiful and we both left full and happy. Thank you for squeezing us in, we'll 100% be back.

   Have driven past the Rose & Crown every working day for the last 20ish years. This last Sunday we had lunch with friends there, great!! Will definitely return. Good choice of beer, friendly staff and landlady, food was very good and a decent portion, and very fairly priced for the quality. Would recommend.

   The food was beautiful so tasty we had a beef roast. The staff was very nice and the manager/ owner had a chat with us too. Beautiful views and a warm and friendly pub. Will be going again very soon
