   Unfortunately, my overall experience wasn’t great — despite the staff being friendly and keeping me updated throughout. I initially brought my bike in due to a noise coming from the rear. I explained the issue and asked if they could diagnose and fix it. Without carrying out a thorough investigation, I was told the issue was due to a loose chain and cassette, which would need replacing at a cost of £150. I agreed to the repair. However, when I collected the bike and took it out, the original noise was still present, which suggested the fault hadn’t been properly diagnosed or resolved. I returned the bike and suggested the issue might be coming from the hub. They carried out further work and charged an additional £50 for labour to rebuild the hub. Unfortunately, when I rode the bike again, there was a noticeable rattling sound coming from the cassette. I took it to another bike shop for a second opinion. They quickly identified that a spacer was missing from the cassette and fixed it within 15 minutes — at no charge. I appreciate the friendly communication, but I was disappointed with the misdiagnosis, the additional cost, and the fact the cassette had not been assembled correctly. I expected a more thorough and accurate service

   Booked my old mountain bike in for a full service. Despite being busy, they managed to do it next day. They called me to confirm any replacement parts before they installed them. Bike is now in great shape (I never managed to get the new gear shifters I installed myself working properly, now they are fine). I wasn't aware of their Hare Hatch location until recently, it is just down the road from me, so great to have their services so close!

   Top quality service from Sprocket and Gear. Faulty rear brake and issue with chain slipping on my bike. The part was in stock and was fitted by Paul; chain issue also remedied! If you’re like me and not 100% confident with bike repairs beyond the most basic then couldn’t recommend more!!! Helpful advice; efficient repair and very reasonable price!!!
