What an absolute pleasure to deal with Josh Tanner of SMC. He handled everything super professionally, allaying all my concerns and going above and beyond to find solutions with the team to ensure my car was ready for IVA testing. What a great service! I cannot praise the team enough. I know other companies would have wanted to make money out of my dilemna but not once did I feel that with Josh. They are truly the most honest, friendly and helpful company I've ever dealt with. My car was fixed and it passed first time! I'm so happy. Thank you SMC.

I recently used ShipMyCar to import my vehicle to the UK, and I honestly couldnβt be happier with the experience. From start to finish, the process was smooth and stress-free thanks to their fantastic team. I truly couldnβt have done it without them. A special thank you to Josh, who was incredibly helpful and always available to answer my questions throughout the entire process. His support made everything so much easier. I also want to thank Nick and Kingsley for their professionalism and efficiency. I received my vehicle on time and in perfect condition. Highly recommended! Thank you so so much

PART ONE WORST COMPANY EVER !!!! If you are thinking about importing your car with βShip my carβ I recommend you think again. I take no joy out of posting a negative review, but feel I have been left with no choice. This all began 12th March 2024. We shipped two cars from Australia to the UK, costing over Β£10,000 ($20,000). Initially the company seemed fine to deal with. We dropped our cars off in pristine condition to their partners in Melbourne. We should have known then, that things were about to take a turn for the worse. The partners seemed unprofessional and we were left feeling uneasy. We decided to give them the benefit of doubt, and put our concerns to the back of our minds. We got a date for when the cars would be estimated to land in the UK, which was roughly on schedule, although we were to be charged additional fees due to the Suez Canal charges. We noted on the βportalβ when our cars arrived. We then kept an eager eye out on this for any updates. One day we looked on the portal and saw a picture of one car, which showed it had been badly smashed up. We had to contact the company (they did not even have the decency to contact us). After getting through we were notified that one car had been unsecured as it hadnβt been tied down properly in the container and this was smashing up and down the entire journey. The car was in need of a new windscreen, bonnet, and the roof had been damaged . We were very upset but again, gave the company the benefit of doubt, as they assured us it would be repaired, and that this was a rare occurrence that they would sort out the insurance and have it repaired . We have been told that this is rare over and over again, but honestly this means nothing to me, as it has did happened - and to my immaculate well looked after car. Two months down the line post having arrived in the uk and neither car was ready. We contacted the company as we were now paying for a hired car and now could no longer afford to hire it and having secured jobs- were stressed about how we were going to get there . We live outside of the city, and could not get public transport, as the last bus to our area is at 1830- we are both nurses and do not finish work in the city until 2000hrs. The car that was not smashed up was still facing delays we were told due to a waiting list at the DVLA but we contacted them direct and were told they had no paperwork for our car and knew nothing about itβ¦. Thanks to clear my car / ship my car for sorting out the NOVA documents (clearing customs) with the HMRC which allows the V55 registration to be completed by the DVLA. I was fortunate that the advised 10 day process was resolved in 2 days. This was the first car I have imported and they really helped me through the process. Great job, many thanks.

Communication is poor and attitude is apathetic. I had to chase for updates. I paid in April and asked for a Aug/Sep shipping date. I emphasised that this was important as I was leaving Hong Kong. Following up prior to August and September, I was unable to obtain any indication for a shipping date. As September came around, no proactive communications and after chasing I was given the option of storing may car with a maybe end September shipping date. I decided with this uncertainty to cancel my booking at the start of September. Now in October I am still waiting for a refund. More frustrating, in email exchanges I was asked if my account accepted GBP and even after confirming yes, I was told the funds had been transferred in HKD. Kingsley who took my call was disinterested and passive aggressive, saying the transfer had been done in HKD and there was nothing they could do about it. Kingsley went as far as to say because it was a HK account, they thought it would only accept HKD. Even made an excuse that the email was one line to confirm the account would "Yes." accept GBP. All the more ironic as they had asked if I could receive GBP and for a business that ships cars internationally, they must deal with accounts all over the world. No accountability taken for the mistake, even went as far to blame their brokers for the additional delay, since the 28th September, when Nick confirmed the transfer had been done. Furthermore, I've no idea or details on what work they did, I know I did administration, I posted needed documents and updates to their portal but 200 GBP was deducted for administration with a rejection to offset due to the delay in refunding or their mistake in transferring HKD. The only response from Kingsley was, "It's in the contract". Can't argue with that but does nothing for accountability. 12 Oct 2022 After some back and forth over the transfer of GBP and exchange rates, Nick agreed to transfer the difference caused by sending HKD instead of GBP. I'm happy to say that the difference in GBP has arrived in my account as GBP and not converted to HKD. I believe Nick and Kingsley are genuine and under pressure as many companies are with the prevailing supply chain challenges and economic situation. Communications can get missed and go awry at any time. My recommendation is verify and confirm to avoid misalignment. While my details remain correct, it seems the advice and decision to transfer in HKD, while well intended, caused a sizeable deficit in the refund for me. It is commendable that SMC agreed to make up the difference. They came through in the end with a genuine response to the currency issue. The portal experience was smooth. For a first time car shipper, a little more handholding or an initial introduction to what to expect would be good.

Very pleased with the excellent service and quality of work performed by ShipMyCar. They took care of the whole process of bringing in my car from the US and the necessary conversion work and tests for it to be road legal in the UK. Everything looks factory on the car! Highly recommend these guys and if I ever want another muscle car, I know who I will be contacting to handle it! Thanks guys, I just wish I could have visited the premises to say so in person. I'll be sure to drop in when things get back to normal.

I had an excellent experience with Shipmycar.co.uk after shipping my car from Japan to the UK Nick and Kingsley were great at handling the registration processes, and helping repair work to be carried out - despite the DVLA delays at present Nick and the team were fast, efficient and always kept me up to date with the progress, and after the repairs and service were done my car has never driven better! (and fair cost!) Further to this they were very accommodating to my request to pick up my car out of office hours for which I am very thankful. I will certainly highly recommend Shipmycar.co.uk to anyone thinking of bringing a vehicle to the UK!

Overall an excellent service! They shipped a classic car over from the US and dealt with the shipping, import, customs clearance, conversions, MOT, DVLA registration and gave it a service and clean. The whole process took longer than expected but I can't fault the end result and they were always very polite and helpful whenever I rang with questions or an update on what was happening during the process.
