Fantastic hotel and would fully recommend! Stayed last night for 1 night, room was lovely and warm. The bed was comfortable and I had a great night’s sleep In quiet surroundings. The staff were friendly and very welcoming. Breakfast was beautiful with high quality food cooked to an excellent standard. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

We were supposed to stay in June but plans changed at the last minute so we swapped it for a little birthday trip, and so glad we did rather than waste the booking. (To note there was a £10 to change our dates.) It's a gorgeous hotel with a friendly old school feel, the staff were delightful and the room was super comfy. Good shower pressure and pleasant décor. The breakfast (which was included) was excellent; we had table service and could choose anything from a continental selection, plus a full cooked breakfast (choice of full English, pancakes, and a third option I've forgotten) and juice, toast and tea/coffee, with no surcharge for anything. It added a lovely touch and we had a great time, just wish we'd stayed longer!

In June-July we stayed at the Old Rectory for 12 days and enjoyed and appreciated the service and accommodation we had. The staff were amazing especially Natalie who lugged my huge case up to our room. We always looked forward to being served by her at breakfast time. So helpful and cheerful, as were the other staff. The breakfasts were of an amazing standard. We were also able to have a small meal delivered to our room at a short notice. Well done. The only small negative I have was the hand held shower piece which one had to hold to achieve an effective shower in the bath. May be this could be updated .Plenty of hot water though and the room was serviced well. We were even provided with a large fan to cool ourselves overnight. If we travel again from New Zealand to this area we will again stay at The Old Rectory Wem. It was a great find on line.

Exceptional service from all the staff, from the collection of my suitcase from my car, the welcome, the food/drinks . All served with a hello and a smile, nothing was too much trouble. Lovely old hotel with gardens in a very quiet location, plenty of parking. Free WiFi.

Wonderful hotel, beautiful rooms and staff were brilliant. No evening meals but after having the afternoon tea the 'light bar snacks" were more than enough. Chris and Sharon
