We have eaten breakfast here the last 3 years and it has been great. This year the service was ok, but the food quality was poor with not everything being as ordered. Shame as there are not many good options for large groups in the high street for breakfast.

Went here as it such a festive and beautiful place, open fires and the hope of Christmas cheer. All a bit lacklustre in the end! Our waitress was a robot, going through the motions and had no personality. I No music playing at all, not even a little bit of Christmas music in the background. We had specifically selected the Swan for our Night of Christmas cheer because it is so welcoming and festive. However, the bright lights and decorations stop there. We had to ask multiple times for drinks, drinks were delayed, it was not particularly busy to account for this. Based on value for money and customer experience I would be unlikely to book the Swan as a Christmas Celebration meal event in the future.

Whenever we head over to see our uncle, The Swan at Tarporley is usually our base. Sometimes we stay the night, sometimes we just slip in for dinner, and it always ends up being a lovely part of the trip. The food never misses. Absolutely delicious every time, and the whole place has that cozy, welcoming pub feel that makes you want to linger a bit longer. We had dinner there last night and the kitchen was on form again. Everything came out full of flavour and beautifully done. The only awkward moment was when I tried to order champagne. It’s listed on the menu by the glass and by the bottle, although it turned out none of the bottles were chilled. Not a big deal, still a great evening, though it would be nice if a cold one was ready to go since it’s advertised. Overall, The Swan remains a favorite stop for us, and I’m sure it will stay that way.

Had a lovely comfortable stay. We were in the coach house very clean bed comfortable but could do with a lick of paint & some attention to the Bathroom. Breakfast was lovely fresh & very filling. The Staff upon arrival & through out our stay were Brilliant! Excellent customer service so friendly. We will be back.

We had a really nice time at The Swan at Tarporley, it’s a lovely spot with a great atmosphere and friendly, attentive staff. The service was excellent, and the place itself has a really nice, welcoming feel to it. The only downside was the food. While it looked great and was clearly well prepared, it was a bit on the bland side and felt overpriced for what it was. A bit more flavour and it would have been spot on. Overall, The Swan is a fantastic place to visit for the setting, service, and ambience. Would definitely go back for the atmosphere alone.

The staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough to make sure we were looked after. I went with a friend and we both had single rooms which were comfortable and pleasant. The meal in the restaurant was lovely and service was spot on. Would definitely come back if I'm in the area again.

unfortunately it has gone down hill.. We really want it to be lovely as the building is beautiful, historic & lovely, however leaving dirty tables for hours on end & dirty glasses on tables is a real issue.. We nearly turned round and left but decided to sit next to the dirty glasses (for an hour), we witnessed many more pop in and leave without staying making sad remarks … Very sad, hoping this feedback helps the team get it back on track..

We stayed for 2 nights in a Courtyard room with our 2 dogs. The room was small but adequate. Initially given the keys to an already occupied room which I only noticed after taking most of the luggage into it. There were cobwebs in the window recess and amongst the wall lights which had been there for some time. The bathroom extractor fan only worked when the cover fell off. There was no drinking water in the room and just one coffee and 2 teas. The cost was on the high side especially as dogs are charged at £20 each per stay. But the breakfast was superb, freshly cooked with excellent produce. The Hotel itself is beautifully decorated and welcoming.

Lovely food, lovely decor and very tidy. Let down by insufficient waiting staff. The two girls who were on did a great job but by themselves left us waiting far too long between service. Was a little embarrassing when hosting business clients.
