   i was in CAMHS for 7 years. they told me for the first 3 years that my outbursts and low moods are due to my parents divorce (even though i told them multiple times that we escape domestic violence) and they tried to help my parents relationship by getting them in a room together. after 3 long years it turns out i had ADHD, then they still pissed me about. my depression was getting worse, anxiety worse and when i was on a phone call appointment telling Marco everything...he turned round and told me it was just my anxiety playing up and i was fine. after being there for 7 years i finally got diagnosed with BPD and i was switched to cornhill adult mental health services but camhs repeatly told me not to mention my digonesed to cornhill and keep it quite? how am i meant to get help if i stay quiet? im finally getting help from cornhill. camhs was the worse 7 years of my life, and shady crap happens here if you can STAY AWAY FROM CAMHS ITS A HORRIBLE SERIVCE

   Was scared at first as I’ve heard bad reviews about CAMHS but in my experience, it was really good. My CAMHS worker, Marco, was amazing. I was very nervous the first time but he made me feel so welcome and seen, we got along and laughed and he made understanding stuff very easy and he was very very patient with me. Thankyou Marco :)

   My son has attended CAMHS on several occasions to investigate and diagnose 2 conditions that he has . Albeit this service is very busy and has a backlog of appointments to carry out, we got our son diagnosed within 3 years . The staff were always very friendly and positive when we visited and made the appointments better for my son to cope with. This service is paramount and will be required more and more by both the young and adults as the years go on. Thank you all for your care and support its very much appreciated.

   My son is waiting until December this year. He was referred by his GP in January. I am apaualed by the waiting for this service. We had a major incident, last of ten this year , with my teen physically assaulting his dad to the extent dad had to have a cat scan to ensure dad had no brain damage, but we were told there was a waiting list of 600 children to be seen before my son so it would not be a priority. What is going on with mental health in Aberdeenshire. God help our children.

   My child was referred to CAHMS because of depression and self-harming. We had to wait 9 months for an appointment with psychologist who said that my child doesn't need an appointment with psychiatrist. After 6 months my child is still suffering from depression and still selfharm herself.

   Been trying to get in touch with them every time I call I get told " we will call you back later" I have been trying for over a month now this is causing my child some major stress issues.

   I am a kinship carer to two children who desperately need mental health help. Trying to get help from CAMHS is like banging against a brick wall. We have had our referrals rejected a few times. Whoever is rejecting them did on sparse information and didn’t even talk to us about it. Re the other child it has taken us years to convince them we need help and the process to get to see a clinician is so drawn out, we haven’t seen one yet and it’s like fill in this form, wait for months, do this enquiry, wait months, school visit, wait more months etc etc. I am beyond exasperated and in the meantime my partner and myself are supposed to continue with our ‘good job’.

   Not a good service what so ever. They do not think of the safety of children or adolescent’s. The only thing they are good at is making young people feel invalid. This is such a bad service I have no idea how half of these even have there jobs. Since continuing my “support “with CAMHS my mental health has gone down hill.

   Have left us in the lurch!! Haven't heard from calms in a while after getting diagnosis (which i do not agree with) They promised they wouldnt do this again but have!! Very appalled and thinking about going to papers as my child needs HELP!!! ABSOLUTLY DISGUSTING !!! feel sorry for all the kids
