   Tried the buffet breakfast. Standard fare, lively atmosphere with all the hotel guests. I hadn't been here in years but the new staff are as pleasant and friendly as always. This is the only branch I've been since the lockdown, where the hot food buffet is open for you to help ourself directly.

   The Beefeater unlimited breakfast was excellent! Everything was fresh, tasty, and constantly topped up. The cooked items were hot and well-seasoned, and there was a great selection of pastries, fruit, and drinks. The staff were friendly and made sure everyone had what they needed. Amazing value for money — I’d definitely go again!

   Visited the Spruce Goose in Basingstoke and had a brilliant experience from start to finish. Mum enjoyed the sea bass, which was beautifully cooked, and I had the mixed grill — generous portions and full of flavour. Our waiter, Adam, was outstanding. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely made the meal even more enjoyable. A great place for a relaxed meal with excellent service. Highly recommend!

   Nestled in a convenient spot, The Spruce Goose Beefeater offers a dining experience that truly exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was attentive and genuinely friendly throughout the evening. ​To kick things off, we decided on a sharing portion of the nachos, and they were a perfect choice. Often, nachos can be overwhelming or undersized, but these were just right. A generous pile of crisp tortilla chips was loaded with a delicious melted cheese sauce, vibrant salsa, creamy sour cream, and a good amount of chillies and spring onions. Each bite was a satisfying blend of textures and fresh flavours, a fantastic way to begin our meal. ​For the main course, I opted for the Chicken Skewers, a decision I did not regret. The chicken was cooked to absolute perfection—succulent and tender with a beautiful char from the grill. It was coated in a subtle yet flavourful marinade that was truly amazing, complementing the natural taste of the chicken without overpowering it. Served with perfectly seasoned fries and a fresh side salad, it was a complete and highly satisfying dish. ​My wife's choice, the smothered Chicken melt, was equally impressive. The presentation alone was enough to get us excited, but the taste truly delivered. A juicy chicken breast was piled high with melted cheese, all brought together with a tangy BBQ sauce. The ingredients worked in harmony, and every forkful was met with a chorus of textures and a rich, smoky flavour. We were both thoroughly impressed with the quality and execution of her dish. ​Beyond the food, the service was a standout element of our visit. The staff were efficient and personable, ensuring we had everything we needed without being intrusive. Their genuine care for our experience made the evening even more enjoyable. ​Overall, the combination of fantastic food and excellent service makes The Spruce Goose Beefeater a place we would highly recommend. It’s an ideal spot for a relaxed and delicious meal, and we can’t wait to go back.

   We needed a place for dinner before going to iFLY across the road. The previous reviews were very mixed, either having had a positive experience or the complete opposite, so were unsure what to expect. Beafeaters can vary and are normally standard food. We were given a table but was told we would need to finish by an hour and a half as it was booked. It was reasonably quiet when we arrived, but by the end of the meal it was almost full, so was good to have been given it. We were served by a really friendly guy who was so helpful. The others who also served us were friendly and helpful. The food was really nice, we all enjoyed what we chose. My daughter's was from the children's menu, I ordered the vegan burger and my husband had the surf and turf, which he really enjoyed and the steak was cooked perfectly as he ordered. The coke and chips are available to top up free, which was a nice surprise, especially that my first drink was half filled with ice so wasn't much coke. We had sides and were good too. Overall ours was great, food and the friendliness of the staff. One thing that could have been different was the table and seat had food on, so we just brushed it off.

   Firstly, I have to note the amazing work ethic we witnessed by Keiran when we were waiting for our meals. He was working his socks off-keeping all the meals coming out one after the other! Our waitress, Tequilla, was so polite, very accommodating and super friendly-she did all she could to assist with the food. The manager, Lee, was also amazing and assisted with helping to get our food earlier as my grandmother needed to eat earlier for medical reasons-what a super star. These three are such a credit to the team and to the Beefeater brand. It was such a busy night, but watching all the staff running around trying to keep up with the drinks and meal orders made us realise they were doing all they could to keep up with the amount of people in. The reason for the star removal was due to some issues with the food. Unfortunately, the salad had no sweetcorn or avocado, when it should have been included. The turkey dinners didn't have any cranberry sauce either. When we tried to order desert, despite the menu saying "new key lime pie", the staff said that they no longer do it. The other desert we tried to order was the banoffee waffle sundae and they had no waffles. I would like to add that the four stars instead of five is no reflection on the staff and just a disappointment with some of the food issues. The food we did eat was absolutely delicious. It was beautifully cooked and very tasty. The Yorkshire puddings were lush too.

   Great food. Lovely cooked breakfast, poached eggs are cooked to order . Great steak for an evening meal. One downside was no air conditioning and our bed was a small double.
