We have only been taking our 15 year old family dog here for the last 3 years. Staff are all really lovely and Friendly. Each time we have been to collect our Dog, she comes back looking happy and healthy. Wouldn't take any dog anywhere else.
We sent here our puppy as he is starting to show signs of reactivity towards other dogs and people. We were very nervous to leave our Jay as he’s anxious and he has separation anxiety, but the trainer Caitlin was absolutely amazing and we saw Jay falling in love with her during the training sessions. They have a really nice place, when we went to drop Jay off we saw all of these dogs having an the time of their life in their very spacious outdoor area, some were sunbathing, other dogs were happily trotting around. This reassured us alongside how amazing Caitlin was from the very start, even though Jay didn’t stop barking! When we went to pick him up, I could see being more confident and how happy he was with the staff. I would definitely recommend the Avalon kennels and we will definitely bring Jay back here in the future :)
Avalon Kennels and Caitlin This review covers two parts.... the kennelling and the training done with Caitlin. I've waited to review our recent experience because I wanted the opportunity to spend some time with my boy, TinTin, to see what effect the training has had on him and give a fair review. My booking with Avalon was unusual due to its length of stay.... I was going to visit my son in Asia for a month, so the booking was in fact for 35 days. Having rescued my boy in Gran Canaria 3 years earlier (at 3 yrs old), we had never been apart so leaving him for any length was very distressing, potentially for both of us! After deciding that I had to kennel him anyway, why not try residential training for his issues, I found the website 'My Dog's Trainer' who were wonderful and found that my closest location was Avalon Kennels and Caitlin as the trainer. The kennels and staff were wonderful - when I picked him up, he was happy and healthy, had been bathed and was 'full of beans' - what more could you ask for when leaving your dog in someone else's care!!! Tintin had been abused in various ways since being a pup but the worst of it was continuously being attacked by the local dogs and his brother whilst being tied round his neck by a rope! This had subsequently manifested as fear aggression and he didn't trust other dogs and in fact would attack before, in his mind, being attacked :-( After talking to Caitlin at length before my trip, we agreed that the minimum we'd like to see happen was that he could tolerate other dogs without fear and anything more would be a bonus! She was so reassuring - I had tried multiple other trainers/options in the past and was of the opinion that it may be that I'd have to accept that this was how he would be forever, so this was my final attempt at reprogramming his behaviour. She was wonderful, so calm and compassionate and quite obviously adoring of all dogs. She stayed in touch every day throughout the month with 'pupdates' and videos of Tintin’s progress, which obviously allowed me to relax and enjoy my time with my son, reducing anxiety and making me cry with happiness on several occasions when seeing his amazing progress! In the final week he was actually in an enclosure with a male dog (his nemesis), happily bouncing around without any aggression towards the other dog at all. This is something I never thought I'd see, I'm so grateful! Obviously this is just the start and she has given me the tools to cope with and manage his behaviour - an amazing foundation to work from. Having spent 3wks+ putting her training into practice since returning home, I can honestly say that he is so much more manageable and I am loving going for walks with him for the first time.... my anxiety has reduced and as a result, so has his! I highly recommend Avalon and Caitlin be it for just the kennels or the residential training - thank you from me and TinTin ♡
If you’re looking for a kennel for your dog Avalon is the place! Having previously called numerous kennels and been told my dogs breeds weren’t accepted we finally found Avalon and have used them ever since. They are fantastic and know exactly what they’re doing when it comes to keeping dogs safe and well cared for. My German shepherd and Corso come back happy and healthy every time they stay and the pictures show how much of a fantastic time they have. (Baring in mind they’re not the easiest dogs the staff do amazing with them!) Highly impressed with their service and will continue to use for a long time. Thanks to all the team for all the hard work you do looking after them.
My dogs have stayed at Avalon several times, most recently over this summer. They are fantastically caring at Avalon and understand the needs of my dogs who are of 2 very different breeds. My older boy has been to other kennels previously and never seemed happy then but at Avalon he comes back happy and looking great. They love the staff and whenever we drop off they are both happy to go straight in and greet whoever meets them - I trust my dog’s opinions!! I travel 90 mins from home to take them to Avalon- they really are great. Even got sent a photo to put my kind at rest that they were fine while I was away for a couple of weeks.
My dog goes for day care, grooming and boarding here. Always found them to be friendly and attentive to the dogs and cats (and their owners). They are reasonably priced and I would highly recommend them.
Avalon Pet Hotel is a fantastic kennels and pet hotel. Our two bulldogs, Bentley and Bosco both stay here and are superbly cared for. They both have multiple special requirements in terms of diet and medical issues but the team at Avalon are brilliant at taking care of everything needed. The customer service is fantastic and we would not choose any other location for our stays.
Couldn't recommend Avalon Kennels enough! Luther is an excited 50kg Pup and he loves every minute! They handle his craziness amazingly, care is second to none!! Raw feed in continued, updates with pictures AND comes home smelling lovely!! Booked in for a few more holidays and I know he'll be happy to see all the staff, as soon as we pull up!! Thank you all!
My 1 year old cat fudge stayed in the Cattery back in august and just recently the cat hotel. He seems to love it there, he’s very well looked after. Staff are amazing and very friendly. Makes it so much more easier leaving your pet with them. Thank you to Sara and the team at Avalon.
Excellent and really appreciated the support when we couldnt fly back due to cancelled flights. The photos they sent us put our minds at ease and it was lovely to see Kayla running and looking happy. Thankyou to the whole team.
