First time using these kennels and the whole process was easy especially as they squeezed us in at short notice. Both dogs came out happy, healthy and didn’t leave until they had their last fuss off the staff. Brilliant service and will be using them again next year.
The aspects of this cattery that I like are the flexible drop off and collection times with Sunday opening hours as well. Other catteries could definitely learn from this model. The double pens are nice and spacious but overall, the place looks unkempt. This was our first time using this cattery and when dropping off shortly after 9:00am last Saturday, their pen wasn't ready which didn't impress us at all. We had to leave our cats in their carriers in the middle of the cattery corridor. I have never had to do that at other catteries in the past and felt very anxious leaving them like that. Both cats are rescues, one a former feral kitten who is very timid with strangers, and when collecting today, I really struggled to get her out of their cat tree house and into the carrier. The employee tried to assist but it was a real challenge. Andrew who was also in the shed offered no help or advice and provided no feedback on their stay. Despite making eye contact, he didn't even respond to our 'thank you' and 'good.bye'. Not impressed.
We’ve just picked up our 5yo Boerboel from a long weekend at Downlands. Mikey is dog reactive and can be fairly fussy with people and I could not be happier with Andrew and the team. I called once a day to check in, and was reassured he was happy and in good hands. Upon collection he was very excited and had clearly had a good time. Highly recommended and we’ll definitely be using them again.
Our dog is always happy to go, and the staff are all really friendly and helpful. The Kennels have also been really flexible with us in the past, having the dog stay an extra night when we were late getting home. Really happy with everything the kennels do, absolutely no complaints

Mia our labradoodle stayed at Downlands for 4 days, she came back home clean, happy and healthy. The facilities are great, Mia was able to run daily and play ball with one of the kennel staff everyday. Nice to know that when you do have to go away that your pet can be left in such good hands. Great job Downlands!
Very professional staff, so helpful and knowledgeable. Our two dogs and three Bengals returned happy and in great condition. We are also very grateful as we were unable to drop or collect our brood this year but Andrew very kindly helped us out by collecting and returning them. I can't recommend Downlands highly enough. We will definitely use them again and will recommend them to anyone who needs somewhere to board their fur babies. Many thanks.
My dog stresses out quite easily and he hates being separated from me, but I have no worries about leaving him at Downlands. They are unbelievably professional and certainly have the knowledge of how to handle all types of dogs. I travel 23 miles to get to the kennels and well, well worth it, knowing he is safe and being cared for. It gives me tremendous peace of mind. Highly recommend Andrew and his staff - they are brilliant.
