Lovely hotel, unfortunately an event on and the music felt like it was in our room it was so loud. Ruined sleep but the comfiest bed ever so a negative and positive stay.

Regarding the rental apartments in the adjacent building, everything is fantastic except for the bathrooms. If you're someone who enjoys soaking in a bathtub, I wouldn't recommend itβthe water is cold, and the boiler either isn't working properly or there's something seriously wrong with it. The shower with its separate heater is a total disaster; the water alternates between freezing cold and hot. The apartments themselves are large and spacious.

Old fashioned hotel in the centre of Aberdeen. Nice bar and lobby area very laid back atmosphere 4 floors with lift and keycard on room doors. My room had an old fashioned radiator in it and it never came on The furniture is all dark wood with a table and chair and a wardrobe and a bed with headboard and side table with a bedside lamp There was a low wattage bulb in the lamp so impossible to read in bed. There was a landline phone on the desk and a Gideon bible in the bedside drawer Bathroom was unheated .Shower toilet and handbasin. Shower was small and there was no shelf for my razor and shave gel. There is shampoo and body wash supplied. Room was very clean. The bed was big but hard and the pillows gave me no support. There's a small TV but the colours on it were not great. Possibly the screen is going. Free WiFi no buffering. The decor is outdated rather than retro. Floor space in the room insufficient to put a suitcase on without it getting in the way

We checked in at 11:30pm only to find out room already occupied. The room occupants (including a young child) were understandably startled and afraid to be woken up by a man walking into their room at that time of night. We then had to wait for staff to knock on another room door (at midnight) to find us a vacant room. No apology was offered and the receptionist the next morning couldnβt even stop what she was doing (tearing Sellotape with her teeth!), or look me in the eye to apologize. The room (119 - avoid it) had a big pink stain on the carpet and water stains on the bedside table (Housekeeping - you can remove that with a warm iron - google it). Location is very handy for the train station and that's why we booked it but would recommend other hotels close by.

We had a lovely stay in these hotel. The room was clean and cozy. The staff in reception were very friendly and plesant. Marvin Paule, one of the staff was very kind and very helpful. Breakfast was excellent, all the staff in the breakfast area are very helpful and friendly. the foods are excellent. The location of the Hotel is easy accessible to the public transport, restaurants and pubs. I will definitely come back. Highly recommended.

Great location and service was amazing. Lovely clean rooms but ended up not sleeping due to very creaky floor and either being below someone pacing or a corridor with people walking up and down all night. It was noisy. Also gluten free options in the morning were questionable and the serving staff could do with some training on allergies. They did try and went back and forth with questions but ultimately, I ended up with veggie sausages.... I'm gluten free not vegetarian. At least they tried though. Reception staff were amazing helping with print queries and directions. And bar and restaurant staff were good with food options. Thai green curry was lovely.

Apparently being vegetarian/vegan should be declared on check-in as this comes under a food intolerance. Surely in todays day and age being vegetarian/vegan should be provided for as standard. Not everyone wants to eat animal products all the time whether they are vegetarian/vegan or not. Was made to feel like I had done something wrong by the lady in charge of the dining room for asking if there were any sausages! I then asked the chef for mushroom and tomatoes as beans on toast was my only option otherwise. He was incredibly sweet and helpful and my breakfast ended up being really tasty - the rest of my party had long finished though.

Always impressed by the Douglas Hotel. I was in an executive room last time, and a double this time. Both excellent, but the executive larger. Both rooms had quality wooden furniture, comfortable beds, good fluffy pillows, great contemporary bathrooms and a warm, cosy, home-from-home quality. A tasty breakfast completes the picture. All excellent value for money and feels like a real treat compared to the big hotel chains. Highly recommended, and I'll be back before long.
