Had the delight of Christmas Afternoon tea , it was simply outstanding !! Wow the best afternoon tea experience I have ever had. The sandwiches and cakes were not only beautiful to look at but simply delicious and outstanding quality , all accompanied by a tiny quiche , and small cup tasty soup. Would highly recommend 5 stars ⭐️ The staff were outstanding great service. Can’t wait to return …

I had a fantastic stay at this charming riverside hotel. The location is beautiful — right by the water with lovely views, yet still not too far from town. It strikes the perfect balance of peaceful and convenient. The atmosphere is romantic, making it an ideal spot for couples or anyone planning a special date night. The setting, especially in the evening by the river, feels truly magical. Practical perks were great too: free on-site parking and the added bonus of an EV charging option, which made travelling stress-free. Overall, a wonderful place to relax, unwind, and enjoy a memorable stay. Highly recommended.

Very quiet, though perhaps not if a wedding is going on. We didn't hear anything. The Jr suite rooms were nice. We had breakfast in our room. There's a separate tub and shower, and it's easy to get fresh air by opening the door to the River. There is a small refrigerator always stocked with water. The staff are very friendly. Catriona was very helpful. The rooms were clean, though people could help by removing their shoes when entering. Bathrobes provided.

My wife and I spent one night here the day after our wedding. When we arrived, we opened the window in our room, and 2 wasps came in. We borrowed some insect spray from a very friendly receptionist and requested a fan for the room so that we could sleep with the window closed. This was all very normal, and we even asked how much another night would cost. And when we found another 3 wasps dying on the floor, we assumed we had miscounted. After a very warm nights sleep with the window locked, we woke to find 9 more wasps dying from residual spray on the floor of our room. I'm not sure what we would have done if they were alive and kicking. We told the (new) receptionist, and she suggested that this is just what happens in the countryside. My partner grew up just down the road, and we've spent the last week in her family home, but this is actually the first time we've experienced wasps spontaneously manifesting in locked rooms. We went to breakfast, and arrived back in our room to find another 5 wasps in our room. We kept the receptionist updated, recieved another assurance that this was a normal part of Scottish summertime, and decided it was time to check out. The receptionist told us she'd informed maintenance, but we still feel like there was a lack of urgency. An otherwise lovely hotel, with otherwise friendly and helpful staff, and lots of options for my coeliac wife. I'm just glad she's allergic to gluten and not the (19) wasps.

The hotel is surrounded by a beautiful woodland and it's not far from Aberdeen. The staff is very friendly and professional - it was a very nice surprise the wee happy birthday message in my room. The room was spacious and comfy, and the view to river was great. The restaurant has a nice ambience, and the food delicious. I truly recommend that.

Lovely hotel in fantastic grounds next to a river. Rooms are beautiful and extremely comfortable. Food is overpriced with a surcharge automatically added on top for good measure.

As a wedding videographer/photographer, I absolutely love working at Maryculter House Hotel. There's plenty of options of how to set up for your ceremony, and there's plenty of space to accommodate for large weddings, but still allow plenty of space for video tripods etc! The staff are extremely professional, helpful and friendly. A really lovely, well run venue for a wedding.

Comfortable rooms with great view of the river. Dinner was really nice. Breakfast itself was ok but service was all but non existent. Had to go back to my room for milk, no butter for the toast everything just took ages. Bit of a Faulty Towers theme this morning.

Excellent stay, we were here a year ago for our wedding. That was absolutely amazing. 10/10. When we walked in this time we were greated by the lovely receptionist that wished us a happy anniversary and was very helpful.
