   I stopped here for breakfast on a bike trip. It’s a nice spot and the people are friendly. It took quite a while to have my order taken but once I did they were very pleasant. The food was really tasty - I had poached eggs and avocado. There were several cyclists outside when I arrived having coffee so obviously a local haunt.

   Four of us went for breakfast, arriving at around 0930hrs. It was busier than we expected, but we got a table next to the cakes, which looked lovely. Our orders were a vegetarian breakfast, Avocat des Oeufs and two Derbyshire Oat Cakes. The two who ordered the Oat Cakes wanted scrambled eggs and mushroom, which wasn't on the menu, but this wasn't an issue at all, they were happy to do it (a sign that they are actually making the food freshly, not just opening packets, methinks). One of our party accidentally put chocolate powder on their poached egg, thinking it was pepper. This was replaced by a fresh egg with no hesitation by the staff, they even removed the egg and muffin from the plate, brought the unaffected egg/muffin back so it could be eaten at the same time as the rest of us, and then arrived with the replacement egg when it was ready. This is the sort of service you want everywhere, Even though they were really busy, every table was occupied, nothing seemed to be too much trouble. The food was really good too, and not expensive. Four breakfasts, four hot drinks, £40 (just under!) Definitely recommend, definitely going again next time we're in the area. Six or seven stars.....

   We ordered 1 sweet and 1 savoury Afternoon tea but there was enough for 4 people. We took some of the leftovers home for later and there is still some left. Great quality and quantity of food along with lovely friendly service equals a perfect afternoon.

   WOW WOW WOW....just had a fantastic lunch here today. Totally bowled over by both the menu choice and daily specials, it was difficult to choose what to have!! The eaterie is spotless and all the staff were both friendly and approachable. I was very surprised the bill was so reasonable for the standard of food eaten. I cannot wait to return very soon.

   Thoroughly enjoyable experience. Really nice building, beautifully decorated for Christmas, real character. The team served us late in the day on a Sunday. The choice was great with some lovely sounding dishes. A lot of patrons were having the afternoon tea which looked fantastic (another time). Service was really friendly and the food was excellent. Thornbridge AM PM ale on draft was exceptional, fresh tasting and crisp. Had the pie and chips with gravy and mushy peas - tasted great and generous portion size. Daughter had chilli which was also very good. Another time will try the cakes which looked very tempting. Overall was superb and will definitely return. Highly recommend
